This research was aimed at determining to what extent factors prior to university admission, motivational factors, and institutional experiences explain the academic persistence of students in the University Leveling Term (CIU) at the Simon Bolivar University - Coastal Campus. An explanatory-type quantitative study was proposed, which involved a non-experimental cross-sectional retrospective causal relationship design. The sample consisted of 101 students (50.5% female) with an average age of 17.90 years (SD = 2.37). The study found a significant relationship between some variables explaining academic persistence, which were: a) having a lower orientation toward academic goals; b) a higher score on the maladaptive pattern; c) a higher score in the perception of the Mathematics professor’s evaluation; and d) a higher score in the final performance. This set of variables explains 56.4% o...

The following research is based on the reality that postgraduate students of the institute of languages showed at Lambayeque University. It is also obvious that postgraduate students do not take the English course when they finish their master program because they do not have enough time and they live away from the city because of work. It has been seen when postgrade students took the English course, they were taught in a traditional way and teachers did not use the new methodologies that could be applied in order to improve participation, communication, motivation and students’ performance. The study was conducted to a sample of 30 students who are between 28 and 50 years old. I started the research process through the application of the pre-test to identify the learning level of the English language, then the didactic program “English for life” was applied in order to improve th...

The present study aimed to: verify the effectiveness that has the Active Teaching Program in Learning Strategies students of the Faculty of Education Sciences of the National University Hermilio Valdizán, Huanuco - 2012. For which we worked with a sample of 78 students enrolled in the second year of studies, these students are divided into two groups: Basic Education and Secondary Education 42 36, the first was the control group and the experimental group second. The research developed is applied. The design was applied to two groups not equivalent or non-equivalent control group (or non-randomized control group). It was applied to the experimental group Active Teaching Program. The results were: learning strategies before and after the intervention in the experimental group was compared with the Wilcoxon test, which is to compare the positive and negative ranges of observed frequencies...

The objective of this research was to compare the perceptions that students of the adult training program of the Cesar Vallejo University School of Administration have on the disruption of remote modality in classroom education. The research focus was quantitative, with a quasi-experimental design and an ex-facto comparative-causal level. The sample was made up of 25 students to whom the Zoller (1992) perceptions questionnaire was applied, an instrument that demonstrated validity and reliability. The results indicate that there are significant differences between the groups (t = 4.67; sig. = 0.000 <0.05), the highest mean was the classroom education modality, concluding that the students of the adult training program have resistance to changing modality in education.

Objective: This was an observational, cross-sectional and prospective study to compare the bronchial asthma control level in pediatric patients aged 12 to 17 years old who take part in the Hospital III Yanahuara – EsSalud Arequipa’s Asthma Program and have the same control level achieved in other EsSalud Arequipa’s health care centers, according to the internationally validated instrument named “Asthma Control Test” (ACT). Materials and methods: A sample was taken from 60 patients distributed into two groups: one of them consisted of 30 patients who took part in the Hospital Yanahuara Pediatric Unit’s Asthma Program and the other one of 30 outpatients from other EsSalud’s pediatric health care centers. For the purpose of the analysis, proportionality was maintained with regard to gender and asthma severity in both groups. Results: The average ACT score was 22.27 in the grou...

Introduction: Physical inactivity among secondary school teachers increases cardiovascular and metabolic risks, highlighting the need for effective intervention strategies. Objective: To compare changes in body composition, lipid profile, and blood pressure following a physical exercise and nutritional education program. Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted with 556 teachers, divided into a program group (274) and a no-program group (282). The program included guided weekly exercises and nutritional workshops over three months. Baseline and final measurements assessed weight, body mass index (BMI), blood pressure, lipid profile, and body composition using tetrapolar bioimpedance. Statistical analyses used Student's t-test to compare deltas between groups, with p<0.05 considered significant. Results: The program group showed reductions in systolic blood pressure (SB...

This article explores the reasons why low-income students, who are supported by a public scholarship program called “Beca 18”, reject this support or leave their studies during the first year of studies. Results are based on two methods: a quantitative model that compares personal and family characteristics among deserters and non-deserters, and a qualitative approach based on in-depth interviews with deserters in order to inquire about the reasons for not accepting the scholarship or early withdrawal. This article prioritizes the qualitative approach because the quantitative does not show significant differences between the two groups. The evidence indicates that the main reasons that explain the early drop-out or non-acceptance of Beca 18 are the affective factors and the lack of social integration into the new environment.

COVID-19 has caused an economic crisis in the business world, leaving limitations in the continuity of the payment chain, with companies resorting to credit access. This study aimed to determine the optimal machine learning predictive model for the credit risk of companies under the Reactiva Peru Program because of COVID-19. A multivariate regression analysis was applied with four regressor variables (economic sector, granting entity, amount covered, and department) and one predictor (risk level), with a population of 501,298 companies benefiting from the program, under the CRISP-DM methodology oriented especially for data mining projects, with artificial intelligence techniques under the machine learning Lasso and Ridge regression models, with econometric algebraic mathematical verification to compare and validate the predictive models using SPSS, Jamovi, R Studio, and MATLAB software. ...

The objective was to evaluate the effect of the application of the GeoGebra software on the problem-solving skills of two-dimensional geometric figures in a sample of 53 university students distributed in two groups (control -experimental) evaluated in two moments: before and after the intervention. . Parametric tests were used to compare independent and related pairs and nonparametric tests were used to compare between classification levels. The results showed that the post-test experimental group was the one that presented the best performance, demonstrating that the use of GeoGebra software improved the solving skills of this type of mathematical problems, promoting collaborative work, social-student integration and improvement of the classroom climate. It is recommended to extend the use of this tool with other applications that help the teaching-learning process.
