Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to provide a comprehensive review of the literature and develop a model of the determinants, indicators and effects of destination competitiveness (DC), as well as several propositions. Design/methodology/approach: This study thoroughly reviewed extant literature to develop a conceptual model and propositions. Findings: Two key findings are listed below. First, 12 different environmental factors are identified and 12 propositions are developed linking these environmental factors to DC. Second, a new indicator of DC is developed, namely, Tourism Attractions-Basics-Context (TABC) model. The TABC model is simple and directly taps into the benefits tourists seek in a destination. Research limitations/implications – Directions for future research are discussed in detail in the paper. Practical implications – Managerial implications are discussed in de...

The concept of Formative Evaluation (FE) refers to a theming of interest in current educational politics. Its revision is needed specifically, when applied to the Peruvian context, in the interest of searching answers to the ever growing education emergency caused by its current sanitary crisis. From this premise, a documental analysis that integrates the inquiry and the systematization of regulatory frameworks and its theoretical-scientific background is proposed. With this approach, it’s been concluded that some fundamental components of a FE can be identified as keeping awareness, taking of decisions, a constant improvement, reflexive revision, self-regulation and learning autonomy. Therefore, it’s established that, its implementation can very well be considered effective, if a balance of regulatory dispositions from early schooling to higher education is achieved. Thus, the role ...

A key characteristic of a learner-centered educational process is its realization as a subject-to-subject interaction between participants. At present, a view that the goal of the pedagogical process is to create conditions for the development of a creative and moral personality, independent in cognitive and practical activities, free to choose a professional, social, family career can be considered customary. A rounded actualized personality is, first of all, the subject of human relations and conscious self-work. That is, this is a person who has a conscious and stable system of relations to themselves and the world, who is able to realize the motives of their activities, set a goal, and independently regulate their own actions to achieve it. A teacher positions oneself as a facilitator in this interaction, and a firm promotion of the student’s ability to be the subject of one’s ow...

Movement restrictions imposed by governments during the COVID-19 pandemic have changed consumption patterns and the way of doing business, forcing small and medium-sized companies to migrate their businesses to electronic media. Similarly, crime increased its participation in cyberspace, exploiting the vulnerability of these companies due to their dependence on digital technologies and the lack of resources for effective management of data integrity, confidentiality, and availability. Therefore, it is necessary to sensitize small and medium- sized companies about the importance of cybersecurity and prepare them not only to defend themselves against cyberattacks but also for a quick and timely recovery from possible incidents. The objective of this study is to propose a basic cybersecurity protocol as the primary defense strategy against cyberattacks, which allows business continuity in t...

The large volumes of scientific information generated daily require health professionals to be constantly updated. Most of this information comes from English-speaking countries or is published in that language; hence, the professional must learn that language to be able to appropriate and/or disseminate as much as possible all this scientific creation. In this context, glossaries of terms from different languages contribute to cover this need. This glossary is conceived as a quick and up-to-date search tool for English terms related to orthodontics and periodontics. It compiles more than 150 terms from these specialties and is intended for students and professionals who wish to consult the meaning of words specific to these fields efficiently. It is not intended to present all the words and phrases pertaining to these specialties, as that would be impossible. It should be clarified that...

Inaction has allowed unprecedented reflection, especially in peripheral countries, where inequalities inherent to the socioeconomic system have accelerated and exacerbated with the current health crisis. The critical analysis of normality, allows the discussion about the values that have allowed the reproduction of phenomena harmful to life. For many authors, this is a time when the political possibility opens up, to dispute future development trends. The new normality is presented as a possibility imposed from above or as one built from the grassroots where the key is the creation of a new conceptual framework, consistent with the current political responsibility, which provides social movements, with the theoretical support for their renewal and for the creation of new strategies. that allow a basic democratic response to the tendencies of repression and state violence.

In sports pedagogy, there is the problem of the formation of an athlete’s personality, resistant to various factors of victimization. In the framework of the present study, the author applied the case method and interviews with elite athletes along with the method of victimological analysis. Totally, 20 interviews were processed and 40 cases were analyzed by means of qualitative and quantitative content analyses. It was revealed that both victim and anti-victim personalities of elite athletes have almost the same basic substructures (clusters). However, the content of these clusters is different. The personality structures of the athletes that demonstrate the phenomenon of victim personality include such personal affective complexes as the authority complex, the superiority complex and the guilt complex. The objective of this bibliometric study is to systematically identify and analyze research on school cyberbullying and education that was carried out in the Peruvian context of the last decade. For this purpose, the methodology used a Document Analysis Sheet with some criteria for the search and analysis of articles (20) and thesis (40) in different databases and repositories. The most important finding is that Peruvian research in relation to school cyberbullying is still incipient compared to the rest of the countries in the region. The highest research output is in theses and is monopolized by a single Peruvian university. The research contexts are especially on the central and north coast. For this reason, we conclude that, although the panorama of research on cyberbullying is still smaller compared to other Latin American countries, the number of works is increasing, especially in ...

This research shows the qualitatively different ways in which Aymara-speaking Basic Education teachers experience interculturality in an urban context of Metropolitan Lima, which concentrates the largest number of speakers of indigenous languages in Peru. The objective of the study is to analyze the perceptions of Aymara-speaking teachers about interculturality. This is a qualitative research based on phenomenography, where a semi-structured in-depth interview was applied to 10 participants intentionally selected for convenience under the saturation criterion. The objective of this research is to develop as thematic content the worldview, cultural practices and grammatical foundations of the Shipibo-Konibo ethnolinguistic group and, with this, to elaborate the theoretical-methodological framework of a communicative-functional method at a basic level, necessary for its teaching/learning as a second language (SL)/foreign language (LE) in urban contexts. For this purpose, the international standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) are taken as a reference. As a result, we have a proposal of transversal thematic axes with a mainly intra- and intercultural content, which were applied in class sessions and followed a didactic approach of continuous learning under a research-action methodology. We conclude by pointing out that this methodological proposal is undoubtedly innovative and will set a precedent in the dev...
