The importance of play as a learning tool must be considered in the educational and learning process of the student-patients who are hospitalized in health centers. Hospital Teaching is not widely used in our country, nor do we have Hospital Teaching Programs established by the Government. However, there are Agencies of Non-Governmental Organizations engaged in providing education and recreation for children and adolescents suffering from illness and who are hospitalized. For this reason, Hospital Teaching Programs provide education and use play as a learning and recreational tool to enhance the development of social and soft skills.

Quality program is important for achieving the objectives of mining projects. They consist of the quality management plan, quality management and assurance (QA) and quality control (QC). They are a tool implemented by the mining companies in order to have valid information that allows the elaboration of resource mineral estimation and reserve mineral estimation studies. The International Standard NI 43101 contains the guidelines for the elaboration of the reports to stock exchanges and bankable feasibility study. The content of the standard is applied in the elaboration of the Quality Program and thus it can be implemented during the activities of a project such as field geology, drilling campaigns, geotechnical, hydrogeological, hydrological studies, topography, security, environmental evaluations and water quality studies. In this sense, the Quality Program requires highly specialized ...

In this decade, the way of simulating medical scenarios has evolved considerably, for some years now, this area and virtual reality came together giving life to a much more immersive form of simulation. The great challenge in medical simulation is to achieve a consid-erable level of realism and performance, as it is limited by the complexity of the scenario and other factors, the hardware factor being the main limiting. Giving the user the possibility to choose between greater or less realism requires that it be defined with which technique it would be achieved, therefore, this research com-pares three forms of surgical incision simulation for virtual reality: Activation by Sequence, Morph Target Animation and CG/HLSL Programming, evaluating factors such as: frames per-second (fps), CPU and GPU usage, which helped to obtain the level of realism of each technique; resulting in that CG/HLS...

Objective: To determine the influence of an educational intervention program to promote attitude changes towards physical activity and lifestyle improvement in medical technology students of a private university. Materials and methods: A quantitative, quasi-experimental, longitudinal, prospective study. The study sample included 94 students, divided into two groups: A (experimental group) and B (control group), which were created and designed by the author, and lasted 12 sessions in the Academic Semester 2016-II. Regarding the instruments used in the research, the Canopy test was used to measure the attitude towards physical activity; a 30-question questionnaire was applied to measure healthy lifestyles, resulting in a high-reliability value (Crombach's Alpha) of 0.95; and Student's t-test confirmed that there is a significant difference between pre-test and post-test averages. Results: ...

The article analyzes the uses and interpretations of the services of a Senior Activity Center program (Centros del Adulto Mayor - CAM) by its users and the professionals who direct it in a low-income urban district of Lima, Peru. Based on ethnographic research, and revealed the way a public policy builds an «ideal old age» which is promoted by their services. This is not passively assumed by the professionals who implement the program locally. They reinterpret their guidelines based on their common sense and experience which generates contradictions and a partial reproduction of prejudices related to old age. On the other hand, users use the program as a mechanism to deal with moments of crisis that were experienced at this stage of their lives. Also to oppose the hegemonic discourse of old age that doesn’t satisfy them. The CAM offers these opportunities but they don’t benefit all...

Objectives: To identify explanatory factors for lack of articulation between university research activities and knowledge needs as defined by users. Design: Qualitative case study. Setting: Faculty of Medicine, Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM), Lima, Peru. Participants: Informants from both the university and the national health authority. Methods: The study was based in semi structured interviews to key informants, from the university and the national health authority. Main outcome measures: Lack of articulation explanatory factors. Results: Explanatory factors identified were: a) Research funding culture depending on own university limited resources, and not allowing proposed nationwide studies such as thos...

There is at present in Peru an important concern in the knowledge society to respond to the demands of the productive sector already that during these last decades the specialties in each college were introduced on the initiative of the teachers, without any study of the labor market or the needs of the different regions, nor of the contributions of the industrial engineers to secondary education directly or indirectly. Currently not enough to have manual skills, but a set of capabilities that graduates will enable them to solve problems and perform in different posts or create their own businesses. The current approach that gives the education for the job is not geared toward this.Throughout the development of the chapters you will find also the references on the requirements of the industry by people trained in certain skills and on the other hand will be able to appreciate the strong ...

Chirikyacu, Chunchiwi, and Chirik Sacha, located in the San Martin region (Peru), are indigenous communities affiliated with the National Program of Forest Conservation for Climate Change Mitigation. The three communities approved the implementation of the Conditional Direct Transfer Mechanism (TDC, acronym in Spanish) as a financial tool for primary forest conservation. This research characterizes the participation of the beneficiaries from the type of involvement and participation size along the TDC execution, identifying drivers that facilitate and limit the participation of the beneficiaries’ minority.Minorities, as in any society, have access to fewer opportunities. In the three communities, I found larger minority groups (such as women) than others with less population (such as monolingual), as well as gender norms accepted in the communities, which limit the minority groups from...
