In recent years, knowledge management (KM) has become an essential tool that, when well executed and administered within business and academic organizations, produces important dividends. This paper was to show the importance of KM in companies and universities as a tool that contributes to improving results and solving problems. The research followed a qualitative methodology, and a literature review was conducted based on top-level papers. Information was collected according to three criteria: evolution of KM trends, importance of KM in business and academia, and KM measurement models. Axial coding was used to group the information into categories or topics. The most noteworthy findings show that KM has brought about changes that range from improvements in the economy to continuous transformations in society and business. An important conclusion is that KM in universities helps to meet...

The study of Neuroscience and The seven Learnings introduce Neuroscience as the new paradigm that enables to analyze and explain the intelligent human behavior. The discoveries found in this field have been shown not only in the theory but in the pedagogical practice as well. In the first case, one of the most recent theories about intelligent behavior has been conceived from the perspective of neuroscience (science that studies HUMAN BRAIN). (Beauport and Diaz, 1994) This study has given more relevance to the relation between the function of the brain and human behavior as well as the conditions that lead to an efficient teaching – learning process. In this context, we introduce The seven Learnings, described by Edgar Morin that state central problems which have been ignored and that are necessary in order to reach a successful teachinglearning process in this century. These seven Lea...

The seriousness of the existing academic harassment and the solutions, sometimes successful, sometimes not so successful, given by higher education institutions, justifies this work. The objectives pursued are to investigate a subject where there is a relevant international, European and national regulation of academic institutions of higher education; to analyze the legal precepts on harassment in Spanish universities, also the Law of University Coexistence, as well as the doctrine and jurisprudence applicable to these cases. In this context, the use of the social jurisdiction is promoted due to the outstanding protection it grants to the party most in need of protection and due to the characteristics of the social jurisdictional order. Often, the labor route may be an option that the victim may consider to be the best way to resolve these situations, in those cases that are more favora...

The purpose of this article is to expand the taxonomy of the most frequent ethical misconducts currently found in scientific publications. We present examples of fraud in contrast to an ethical conduct in research and publications arising from research. Then, we show the taxonomy in different stages: before, during and after the publication. Before the publication, the following ethical misconducts were found: conflicts of interest not declared by the authors, undeserved or insufficient authorship, salami slicing, plagiarism, self-plagiarism, fabrication, manipulation or impossibility of data replication, and parallel submission of articles. During the process of publication: conflicts of interest in peer review, false peer reviewers, theft of the manuscript by peer reviewers, content mishandling and undeserved authorship following peer review. After the publication: alteration of the im...

This work was focused on identifying the strategic cycle for the application of the methodology by cases in administration students; for this an evaluation was carried out with the methodology to capture perceptions and gathering of relevant information where criteria were identified to propose a new route of strategic case-based learning in order to improve assertive performance, expertise and debatability in students. The research identified that only 2% are dissatisfied with the application of the methodology and more than 81% would like it to be implemented in their final evaluations. However, 76% believe that there should be improvements, in the same way in that the gathering of information identified is important to carry out a simulation of the experience and consider preparation and evaluation as a risk factor for its adoption in relation to the performance of the teaching modera...

Introduction: Academic self-efficacy drives achievement and student well-being; however, brief, psychometrically rigorous measures tailored to complex university courses remain scarce. Existing long‑form scales, although thorough, are often impractical for time-constrained research and classroom diagnostics. Objective: to develop and validate the five‑item Self‑Efficacy Scale in Academic Mastery (SSAM). Method: Items rooted in the Social Learning Theory were reviewed by experts (n=6). Psychometric testing used two university samples (N₁ = 180, N₂ = 742) plus the PHQ‑4. Results: Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses supported a unidimensional structure with high reliability (α=.91; ω=.92) and good fit (CFI/TLI>.90; RMSEA/SRMR<.08). The scale showed configural, metric, and scalar invariance across the sex and academic status groups. Graded Response Model paramete...

The ISO 9001 standards in different versions 2008 and 2015, serve the organizations to implement a Quality Management System so that they can create products or provide quality services for the client or end user. As the universities providing educational services, having to train students of quality in this changing competitive environment, they can not manage their business processes in an inorganic way, that is, with chaotic processes. The present article presents a development model applying the ISO 9001 standards, seeking to influence the satisfaction of the academic coordinators of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences of the University object of study, and expecting impact in turn in the satisfaction of the students, in Basis of a recurrent process of continuous improvement.

Research in academic literacy has shown that scaffolding improves the reading of disciplinary texts. Included among the considered variables is the lexica. A robust vocabulary will result in better reading performance. To verify this, a semantic priming task and a reading comprehension test were applied to 31 first-year pedagogy students to establish whether there is a correlation between lexical processing and reading. The main findings indicate the establishment of weak semantic relations and normal reading performance. It is concluded that better reading performance is associated with slower lexical processing, which would suggest that readers engage in strategic operations to address comprehension tasks. This will allow for the formulation of scaffolding actions that highlight the importance of mastering the disciplinary vocabulary in order to safeguard an adequate reading task.

The problem of inferential comprehension of specialized texts by students of general studies at a private university (N=717) was the main axis of analysis in this study. The intention was to know the strategies that they used to understand a scientific text. When we analyzed by means of the factorial analysis the cognitive activities they undertook when reading a text of Psychology, we reached a solution of two factors: F1, macro structural processing; and F2 model of the situation. The intervention of the professors was recommended who must promote their approach to the text and teach them adequate strategies for the comprehension of scientific texts of the courses they are in charge.
