Self-medication is a transcultural practice which includes populations of all ages. Said practice focus on the vaguest conception of people’s self-care or biological well-being preservation, illness prevention, and health promotion. However, self-medication can be as harmful as not treating the conditions that threaten health. This situation results in raising questions in the scientific field. The present article aims at presenting the set of variables regarding self-medication that have been most frequently studied in scientific literature since year 2000 until now. Two different conclusions arise from this bibliometric analysis: to confirm the global establishment of self-medication phenomenon, and to find out the constant trend of variables linked to this high-risk behavior.

The purpose of this article is to expand the taxonomy of the most frequent ethical misconducts currently found in scientific publications. Before the publication, the following ethical misconducts were found: conflicts of interest not declared by the authors, undeserved or insufficient authorship, salami slicing, plagiarism, self-plagiarism, fabrication, manipulation or impossibility of data replication, and parallel submission of articles. During the process of publication: conflicts of interest in peer review, false peer reviewers, theft of the manuscript by peer reviewers, content mishandling and undeserved authorship following peer review. After the publication: alteration of the im...

This study aims at determining the contributions of psychology to the phenomenon of consumerism. To this end, we contextualize the theoretical framework, considering current specific societal circumstances, as well as legal aspects both in the international and the Colombian national contexts. A review of the literature allows us to identify specific contributions of the psychology of consumerism. Finally, we discuss the active role psychology should have in this topic, the psychological factors that mediate in the process and the characteristics psychologists interested in the psychology of consumerism should have.
