This study analizes Daniel Alcides Carrion role as a cultural hero and central element of Peruvian medical tradition. We verify the meaning of the elaboration process of Carrions experiment in a political struggle and national reconstruction scenery that converges with the beginning of the century aristocratic elite positivism. Social recomposition of medical institutions and the emergent fraction entrance to the Faculty of Medicine makes end of the XIX century-Carrions created image to become a neutral icon at the present time, amenable to absolute reivindication by all sectors as it is deeply rooted in the past with no current presence. Los estudios críticos sobre la relevancia de las artes visuales en la novela El siglo de las luces (1962) de Alejo Carpentier se han concentrado, fundamentalmente, en el carácter emblemático que cobra la pintura en la estructura narrativa. Este trabajo recupera esas lecturas en clave alegórica y simbólica para indagar otros aspectos que problematizan las vinculaciones entre literatura, regímenes escópicos y praxis política. La presente investigación es una respuesta al vacío de investigaciones académicas sobre los paisajes rizícolas en el Perú. Por ello, se analiza el paisaje del distrito de Guadalupe desde la construcción de la represa de Gallito Ciego en 1988 hasta la actualidad con el objetivo de aportar al diseño de un plan del paisaje agrícola que considere los nuevos escenarios y necesidades de la gestión territorial. La hipótesis inicial propone que la lectura (memoria, lectura, análisis) del paisaje rizícola en Guadalupe permite conocer su multidimensionalidad y su configuración territorial; y con ello, proponer estrategias para su protección, conservación y puesta en valor que responda a las necesidades de la eficiencia de uso del agua y del suelo. El presente artículo, a partir del vínculo entre la biografía, los datos del proceso judicial y los poemas “III”, “XVIII” y “XXIII” de Trilce, explora la imagen de César Vallejo en prisión y aspectos de su renovación poética. La idea que guía este estudio es que los poemas mencionados se perfilan como espacios poéticos en los cuales la voz poética, motivado por la presencia imaginaria de la madre, registra la declaración de su libertad estética. The article seeks to understand if history textbooks are still instruments that contribute to the process of image formation about the Peruvian nation. The central argument points out that in recent decades history textbooks are conceived as resources for the pedagogical implementation of a more pluralistic conception of the nation, more attentive to social and cultural diversity. The work is divided in three parts. In the first, one reflects on the school textbook as an object of study. In the second, it is explained how school texts played an important role in the formation of the imaginary about the nation. In the third part, two themes of history are examined, independence (first decades of the 19th century) and the years of political violence (1980-2000), in secondary school textbooks for the year 2012.

Paisajes fragmentados is an artistic project that is composed from the compendium of figures, experiences, memories and records of the tour of the Piura region, where I was my first approach with nature, in Talara and Sullana — my hometown—. Thus, this work allows me to go through these spaces again, as a reminder and reimagining of their present landscape. The circuit of these drawings and prints addresses concepts and meanings such as the dreamlike, the imaginary, nostalgia and the personal archive. In this way, longing is a return impulse for the collection of fragments of the landscape; the memory is broken when verifying the environmental crisis of the Piura territory, what was a warm place in my memory, is now threatened by extractivism and contamination. Transmedia communication has achieved an important evolution and relevance in the last years, being considered by producers and organizations as a key strategy in the development of new projects, known through a diversity of media and platforms. At the same time, this process is influenced by a participative culture made up the prosumers. In this paper, we want to know how and what contribution brings the variety of media in the construction of transmedia worlds. Therefor it is planted as object of study the media ecosystem of Marvel´s Civil War; the comic began as a crossover and now it can be considered one of the transmedia storytelling more complete and complex cases in relation with the multiplicity of media involved.

Nowadays, the digital revolution has positioned the meme as a manifestation of humour that constructs and reflects worldviews that inhabit the collective imaginaries of the communities that share and viralise them. In this sense, the present study aims to analyse 300 memes obtained from the algorithmic operations of Google Images around three specific themes: xenophobia, sexism (machismo), and narcoculture. A method based on the coding of memetic narratives was employed, which enabled us to break down the form and message of each piece of communication in terms of its structure, intertextuality, intention, the rhetoric of humour, narrative, and main character. The results indicate that memes, within their textual and visual nature, are used both to ridicule or reinforce stereotypes but can also serve to denounce complex social issues within the selected contexts.
