César Vallejo’s latest narratives are sources for tracing his perspective on school and childhood, topics that have been interpreted from a sociological, political and cultural orientation. This article analyses and interprets the significance of childhood in Vallejo’s stories from the premises of tensional semiotics. The idea that guides this study is that, in the stories «Paco Yunque» and «El vencedor», the corporeality of the actors configures and warns of the disappearance of childhood. El presente artículo, considerando el planteamiento de la educación estética sugerido por Friedrich Schiller y la propuesta de la experiencia estética de Hans Robert Jauss, estudia «Estival», «El barco perdido» y «La mula», de César Vallejo, en tanto poemas infantiles concebidos para propiciar la formación de la racionalidad sensible del niño. Supone que, en dichos poemas, la presencia de la voz poética interpela la sensibilidad y la racionalidad del lector infantil para transmitir una emoción que forme su solidaridad afectiva, su imaginación reflexiva y su compasión intersubjetiva.

Between 1913 and 1917, César Vallejo published ten pedagogical poems in the school journal Cultura Infantil, which compared to The Blacks Heralds, reveal how was the transition from a pedagogical conscience to a poetic consciousness in the Santiago de Chuco’s poet. In this sense, from the principles of textual genetics and the horizon of comparativism, this research contrasts «Oscura», «Armada juvenil» and «A mi hermano muerto…», respectively, with «Los arrieros», «Terceto autóctono» and «A mi hermano Miguel». This article explores the meanings of the house in César Vallejo’s Trilce. The guiding idea of this study is that in poems «XXVII», «XXVIII» and «LXI», poetic images disclose affective senses of the house and connote connection, restitution, and understanding of the self. For this purpose, we first take stock of the image-centered appreciations in Trilce; then we explain the conception of poetic image and house from Gaston Bachelard's phenomenology of imagination, and we delineate the features of the poet's home from Danilo Sánchez Lihón's evocation. Subsequently, we analyze and interpret the poetic images of the mentioned poems; and, finally, we reflect on the transcendence of the poetic image for the understanding of Trilce.

El presente artículo, a partir del vínculo entre la biografía, los datos del proceso judicial y los poemas “III”, “XVIII” y “XXIII” de Trilce, explora la imagen de César Vallejo en prisión y aspectos de su renovación poética. La idea que guía este estudio es que los poemas mencionados se perfilan como espacios poéticos en los cuales la voz poética, motivado por la presencia imaginaria de la madre, registra la declaración de su libertad estética.
