The late interest of Ecuador to work on a brand caused that smaller cities also delay their own brand. This did not favor their tourism development, as well as the growth of investment and business. This article is a diagnosis of the current tourist situation of Cayambe, as of other references, proposing the creation of the city branding. Regarding its positioning, a visual advertising strategy that impacts the objectives of the city and its inhabitants through transmedia tactics, is suggested.

This article analyses religious and spiritual coping of negative and stressful events such as the loss of a loved one. The study case of a religious catholic woman who lost a loved one is part of my Docthoral Thesis (an exploratory and descriptive study done with religious persons of different creeds), where it was verified that prayers, meditation, spiritual healing, funerary rituals and social support promote positive effects and physical, psychological, mental and spiritual well- being of religious people who mourn the loss of a loved one.

In recent decades it has reached a reasonable agreement among researchers regarding concepts and manifestations associated with mourning (Stroebe et al., 2007). The progress are great from the conceptions of mourning “work” (Freud, 1917), the “phases” (Bowlby, 1980; Kubler Ross, 1984) and the “tasks” of mourning (Worden, 1991). A lot of recent research recognize the mourning as a complex phenomenon that includes biological, psychological, social and spiritual levels (Stroebe et al., 2007).New studies broadened and deepened the theory of stress confrontation present in negative and / or traumatic situations (Lazarus & Folkman, 1984) to investigate the cognitive, emotional, social and spiritual process that people of different ages use, belonging to different creeds and cultures to confront various types of losses (Stroebe et al., 2007; Folkman, 2007; Rosemblatt, 2007).One ...

The purpose of this study was to analyze and understand the loving suffering in the poem "Por más que quiero" by Mariano Melgar Valdivieso from the perspective of discourse analysis. The method used was hermeneutics, for which phenomenology, structuralism and the study of signs were taken into account. The technique used for the study was the analysis of poetic discourse: textual, enunciative, semiotic and pragmatic dimension. The poem evidenced the poet's loving suffering, grief caused by the disdain of heartbreak, the impossibility of forgetting and the non-correspondence of feelings to the lyrical subject by the loved one.

This article explores the experiences and learning of university students when participating in different roles (players, actors, and staff) in transmedia games. A case study was carried out at the university that analyzes 9 of the 11 “I love to read” games carried out from 2014 to 2019 to promote reading. The participation in theseevents has been approximately 1048 university students. The results and findings indicate that these games are immersive experiences that generate readiness and diverse learning, arouse interest and benefit the university community. I conclude that they generate a space of intramural affinity and are an effective strategy to promote connected learning.

This article seeks to explore the response of international human rights law and international human rights bodies in the definition of guidelines for States to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. The main argument is that the high levels of adaptability of the norms for the protection of human beings and the standards developed in this matter are reflected in the way their protective effects have been at display; mainly, in i) the limits for restrictions or suspensions of human rights for epidemic control and ii) the specific provisions for the protection of vulnerable groups. Towards the end of the document, given the importance of the subject in the context of the pandemic, the author reflects on the approach of international human rights law towards death, the handling of corpses, the mourning and the participation of families in decisions regarding the disposition of the bodies of their l...

The present study aimed to apply a network analysis model to provide an exploratory empirical conceptualization of dynamic networks of posttraumatic growth (PTG) symptoms in 7,434 people who experienced the death of a loved one from COVID-19 in 16 Latin American countries. The Post-Traumatic Growth Inventory: Short Form of Eight Items was used. A non-regularized network with partial correlation coefficients was estimated through the ggmModSelect algorithm. The network architecture was analyzed for each country through its local properties and global properties. The results indicated that the networks differed significantly between countries. The core dimensions in the networks were relating to others, personal strength, and life value and opportunities, which were more related dimensions that reinforce the emergence of PTG in all countries. The findings may be useful to motivate research...

This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Grief Impairment Scale (GIS) using a network psychometric model. A total of 1048 individuals from Peru and El Salvador participated. A network psychometric model was used to determine internal structure, reliability, and cross-country invariance. The results indicate that the GIS items were grouped into a single network structure through Exploratory Graph Analysis. Reliability was estimated by structural consistency, and it was found that when replicating the network structure within an empirical dimension, a single network structure was consistently obtained, and all items remained stable. Furthermore, the network structure was invariant, thus functioning similarly across the different country groups. In conclusion, the GIS presented solid psychometric evidence of validity based on its internal structure, reliability, and c...

Introduction: Worldwide, anxiety and depression are the most common mental disorders, both in clinical settings and in the general population. The Patient Health Questionnaire-4 is the most widely used open access instrument to assess anxiety and depression in both clinical and community settings. Objective: The study aims to evaluate the psychometric evidence of the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-4). Method: 1015 Peruvian individuals between 18 and 69 years old (M=26.4, SD=9.93, 58.6% women) who experienced the death of a loved one participated. Techniques derived from Classical Test Theory and Item Response Theory (IRT) were used. Results: Three models were tested: one-dimensional (CFI = 0.989; TLI = 0.966; RMSEA = 0.075), the two-factor model (CFI = 1.000; TLI = 1.000; RMSEA = 0.000) and the bifactor model which did not converge. The two-factor model was the one that came closest t...
