This investigation explores the principles of CLIL for the design of a content-based course called Art History & Appreciation. These principles constitute the beliefs that direct the decisions about the course objectives, content, method and evaluation. Thus, an integrated model of curriculum is expected to be developed. The products of this model, that is, the syllabus, lesson planning, materials and tests are also immersed in the context of CLIL and other related theories, like Task-Based Learning, which permits its implementation in the classroom, and Communicative Language Ability, which sets the components for the evaluation of its effectiveness.

The aim of this study was to examine the preliminary evidence of validity of the Research Self-Efficacy Scale (RSE) through the analysis of item contents. A sample of ten research psychologists (70% male; Mage = 47.2 years old), and 34 Peruvian college students (> 70% female), both undergraduate (n = 19) and graduate (n = 15) was assessed. The researchers evaluated the relevance and clarity of the items, and the students, the clarity of the RSE statements. The answers given by the judges were systematized through Aiken’s V with confidence intervals, obtaining favorable results. In conclusion, the RSE exhibits favorable evidence regarding the representativity of the items. The practical implications of the findings are discussed here.

In the context of the sociocultural approach, the authors studied the problem of the development of the students’ conceptual mental structures in the process of geometry teaching. An educational activity for the development of a generalized ability to solve geometry construction problems in electronic educational environment served as a development means. The objective of the research is to introduce a characteristic of the technology for the formation of the students’ generalized ability to solve geometry construction problems in electronic educational environment focusing on the development of conceptual mental structures. The key factor is the transition from the content-based mathematics teaching to instrument and value-based one, which corresponds to the transformation of the content sphere of mathematical knowledge into procedural and contextual. Construction problems introduce...

Background: The relevance of developing mental activity for mastering geometric concepts relates to the change in paradigmatic foundations taking place in modern education. Such a change is associated with the recognition of a schoolchild as a subject of educational and cognitive activity, the initiator of own activity. Objective: The authors attempted to describe a model of a didactic system for developing active usage of geometric concepts in the process of teaching geometry to mathematically gifted schoolchildren in 10-11 grades. The authors also used the GeoGebra dynamic system as a component of the electronic educational environment (EEE). The objective is achieved by characterizing the architecture of the system model, which evokes active usage of geometric concepts within schoolchildren in learning situations; substantiating psychodidactic conditions for the effective development ...

In the field of education and technology companies, online judges play an important role in the development of programming skills because on these platforms students must solve challenges using specific programming languages. However, the sheer number of coding challenges available can be overwhelming for students, leading to frustration and loss of interest. To resolve this situation, recommender systems can be an effective solution. However, programming judges have not delved far enough into this area. Therefore, this research focused on evaluating six artificial intelligence techniques through a cloud-based architecture for the prediction of the level of difficulty from the statements of the problems to be coupled to a recommendation system. To validate the experiments, a real CodeChef programming judge was used and the experiments were evaluated through statistical tests. The results...

Objective: Design a questionnaire for the analysis of teacher identity and validate its content. Methods: theoretical review of the concepts for the creation of the questionnaire: educational trends and norms and the method of expert judgment for the evaluation of the items based on pertinence, relevance, clarity and sufficiency. The statistical indices of content validity were used Aiken's V coefficient and Content Validity Index (CVI) of Lawshe (1975) modified by Tristán-López 2008. Results: The concept of teaching identity was defined as “the teacher's self-reflection about their teaching work and relationship they establish with their immediate, institutional and work context”, and the specifications for the use of the questionnaire were developed. The wording of the 33 items was improved and the final version of the instrument after the evaluation by the expert judges and the ...

This paper is part of a bigger research that aims to understand how professional education delivered through Project-Based Learning (PBL) affects self-authorship development on undergraduate students. This part of the project aims to evaluate self-authorship development of undergraduate students enrolled on PBL during four to five years. The method used was qualitative, transversal, with biographical-narrative approach. In deep interviews were the instrument for data construction. Nine students of different semesters voluntarily participate on the interviews. Data analysis were based on categories validated on previous research, using the software Atlas.ti as a tool. Results found that practical experience during professional education would exert different effects on students depending on their self-authorship position. In addition, found that PBL on its own is not sufficient to generat...
