The aim of the present study was to examine the relationship between students’ cognitive and self-regulatory strategies, academic engagement, and academic achievement in higher education, analyzing the mediating role of reading comprehension. Different tasks to assess the constructs were administered to 209 students (Mage = 21.71; SD = 4.36). The students' GPA was used as a measure of academic achievement. Significant associations were found between cognitive and self-regulation strategies, academic engagement, reading comprehension, and students' GPA. In addition, a positive association was found between cognitive and self-regulation strategies and academic engagement. Este artículo presenta una revisión sistemática con el objetivo de analizar las dimensiones conceptuales alrededor de la influencia de las funciones ejecutivas en la comprensión lectora. The purpose of this work was to analyze the working memory like a cognitive model envolved in lexical tasks and individual differentiation on capacity of Reading. The subjects were 163 students of public and particular schools. In this study we elaborated a new “reading span test” agreement with suggestions from Daneman and Carpenter (1980), adapted to children students. That instrument was correlated with the subtest of Number from WISC, inverted form. The validity assessment between both tests was made with Spearman’s coefficient of correlation. The consequence of that assessment showed rRHO = 0,47; it should prove both tests contain the function of processing (or computation) proper of the working memorysystem. Then, that “reading span test” is an adequate instrument to measure individual differences about capacity of reading only in similar subjects like those we studied.

Fomentar la lectura se ha convertido en uno de los desafíos primordiales en el ámbito educativo, y en este contexto se identificó deficiencia en comprensión lectora, teniendo como objetivo general implementar un Sistema Tutor Inteligente (STI) para fortalecer el aprendizaje de comprensión lectora en el segundo grado de primaria en la I.E 11050 Rómulo Cabrera Chilcon. In recent years, the number of studies on the comprehension and speed of reading in braille has increased, from a cognitive approach, in order to improve the quality of life, and educational inclusion of people with visual disabilities. The objective of the systematic review was to identify the relationship of psychological functions in the process of reading comprehension in braille in people with visual disabilities. Myrciaria dubia is an Amazonian fruit shrub that produces numerous bioactive phytochemicals, but is best known by its high L-ascorbic acid (AsA) content in fruits. Pronounced variation in AsA content has been observed both within and among individuals, but the genetic factors responsible for this variation are largely unknown. The goals of this research, therefore, were to assemble, characterize, and annotate the fruit transcriptome of M. dubia in order to reconstruct metabolic pathways and determine if multiple pathways contribute to AsA biosynthesis.RESULTS: In total 24,551,882 high-quality sequence reads were de novo assembled into 70,048 unigenes (mean length = 1150 bp, N50 = 1775 bp). El propósito del presente estudio fue desarrollar competencias de comprensión lectora de poemas en alumnos de sexto grado de primaria de una escuela rural pública del Estado de Morelos, México, que presentaban bajos niveles en indicadores de logro, al concluir el quinto bloque curricular del programa de sexto grado de primaria, denominado Leer y escribir poemas para compartir. Una evaluación previa del grupo reflejó que 28 de los 30 alumnos presentaban un nivel de comprensión de lectura bajo, por ello, fue conformado de manera aleatoria, un grupo de once alumnos quienes tomaron un curso de entrenamiento para la comprensión de lectura, que constó de seis sesiones. We analyzed two dependent variables: noun phrase reading time (determiner + role noun) and total reading time. We found an early incidence of stereotypes during comprehension and different effects at the noun phrase level compared to the sentence level.
