The present article presents a summary of the competence approach developments in the Superior Education . First, the determined factors which influenced in the paradigm change for universities since 2000areanalyzed. Then, it developedthe meaningofeducationbasedincompetencesandtheneedofa continuous evaluation which assures the achievement of the competence. lt is emphasized in the conceptual and methodological aspects of the competence evaluation. Likewise, the elements to consider when starting the evaluation actions by competences, as the competence definition process, the elaboration of models, methods, strategies and reliable meansforthe performance evaluation of the professional training, are reviewed.

This article focuses on the releVance of comprehensive reading throughout the history of education, and on which has been the trend in our country. This paper describes, from a psycholinguistic and pedagogical approach, how reading comprehension is understood nowadays focusing on how the text intervenes in the allocation of meaning and the importanceof metacognitive processes, as well as the memory functions in the cognitive process of the reading comprehension.

This article examines the representation of women in literature of all times and from differentplaces, focusing on those female characters in universal narrative that have survived until today,and going through the fiction of various authors. Some of the characters show respect for the normsand values and in some cases they show a transgressive behavior, according to the ideological,social, and cultural characteristics of the context. This article presents the transformation of womenin fiction.

The present article focuses on a brief historical account of thewomen education in the world, of how the lack of educationalopportunities kept the women away for centuries, the worldintellectual scene. This and other situations occurred throughhistory, justifies the creation of an exclusive university forwomen. The Education School of “Universidad Femenina delSagrado Corazón”, since its creation, 50 years ago, was orientedat training professional educators, genuine people, formed witha humanistic base, centered on Christian moral values.

La presente investigación centra sus objetivos en el desarrollo y aplicación de un Taller con enfoque cognitivo y lingüístico para mejorar la habilidad de comprensión de lectura de textos narrativos y expositivos. La muestra probabilística estuvo conformada por 87 alumnos del 3ª grado de educación secundaria de la Institución Educativa Andrés Avelino Cáceres del distrito El Agustino. Se aplicó diferentes estrategias para desarrollar la habilidad lectora. Su duración fue de dos meses. Se aplicaron 10 pruebas de comprensión lectora y el test Cattell de inteligencia. El análisis de los resultados permitió conocer hasta qué nivel las estrategias de comprensión lectora, afectan el proceso de comprensión de los alumnos.
