The construction and operation of railroads in Colombia was one of the most significant events for the economic, social and cultural development of the country in the 19th century. This historical milestone took place in the department of Antioquia, where a railroad line of its own was built, improving mobility conditions while at the same time constructing the necessary infrastructure for its operation, such as stations and workshops, in different parts of the route. Although for the Ministry of Culture of the Nation, the railroad stations are of cultural and patrimonial interest of great importance for the nation, this declaration does not directly include the workshops where the necessary maintenance was performed for the correct operation of the railroads. The technical-constructive assessment tries to analyze the "Talleres de Bello" complex from a more holistic perspective, that is,...

Among the microorganisms that form the red complex, considered by Socransky as aggressive bacteria in periodontitis, such as Tannerella forsythia, a strict anaerobic bacillus, which would be participating with relevance in this pathology, its multiple virulence factors, as well as its capacity to subsist under optimal conditions in the periodontal pocket, such as stimulating the activation of inflammation mediators that with the chronicity of the disease would be progressively damaging the periodontium. In this review, we will learn more regarding this microorganism of great importance in periodontal diseases.

Objective: Of this study is to describe, based on dissections of anatomical pieces, the anatomical components of the Craniomandibular Joint Complex (CMJC). Materials and Methods: Eighteen half-heads of anatomical preparations belonging to Venezuelan human adults, previously treated with 10% formaldehyde and preserved in Gerdex ® undiluted for 6 months, prior to manual practice, were used. Consequently, the elements were dissected following the protocol of the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Los Andes and particularizing the anatomical pieces in order to broach the different nature of the elements that constitute the CMJC. Results: The anatomical dissection was able to contrast the referred from a theoretical point of view in relation to what can be evidenced in a surgical intervention, illustrating the anatomical content that it has in normal conditions. The elements of the CM...

Peru is in fact a country with important reservoirs of natural gas as Camisea and it opens potential opportunities for gas chemical development. In a mark of a higher enterprise competitiveness, in industry any time is more generalized to account with tools as support for enhanced of process and cost savings. The simulation and optimization of industrial process aided by computer is a powerful alternative. This work has as propose to make the design of a process an economical analysis with preliminary character of an integrated fertilizer complex for several plants: ammonia, nitric acid, ammonia nitrate and urea. The complex to treat the simulation in process where the transformation reactions happen in all steps of the plant, as is the case of nitric acid; it requires a great domain, not alone in the use of a powerful simulator, but a deeper knowledge of reaction kinetics and the thermo...

Exposure to high-altitude hypobaric hypoxia provides a useful pathophysiological model for studying the brain's response to reduced oxygen availability. In this study, gene expression was analyzed in different brain regions (hypothalamus, striatum, hippocampus, and cerebral cortex) of rats exposed to 3153 m a.s.l., focusing on markers of inflammation and cellular adaptation: NLRP3, IL-1β, and HIF-1α. For the samples obtained from each brain region, three consecutive procedures were performed following the manufacturer's instructions: total RNA extraction, reverse transcription to complementary DNA (cDNA), and quantification by real-time PCR (qPCR). Findings showed limited induction of NLRP3, whereas IL-1β and HIF-1α were markedly overexpressed. These results suggest that cerebral hypoxia triggers a sustained inflammatory response during the 28-day exposure period, accompanied by HI...

A new vaccination programme against infectious bursal disease using a virusantibody complex vaccine in comparison with a traditional programme under field conditions was evaluated. In each group, 21,800 broiler chickens of Cobb Vantress 500 line were used. The experimental group was vaccinated with the strain 2512 in combination with specific antibodies at the incubation plant on day 18 of embryonic development, whereas the control group received two vaccines of live virus, the Bursine®2 and Bursa Blen, administered by drinking water at 8 and 19 days of age respectively. Body weight, feed conversion index, European Production Efficiency Index, mortality, bursal index, histopathological lesions, and antibody levels against IBDV were evaluated. Birds of the experimental group showed higher body weight (p<0.05), and better feed conversion index and production efficiency index at 47 days...

Bibliography indicates that the larvae of the genus Contracaecum are of zoonotic importance. These papers are based on a single clinical case whose conclusions are doubtful and should be confirmed. In the present work, the results of experimental infections in Balb/cAnN mice, with L3 juvenile of the Contracaecum ogmorhini Johnston & Mawson, 1941 complex, are reported. The helminths were obtained in the stripped weakfish, Cynoscion guatucupa (Cuvier, 1830), the second most important commercial fishery resource in Argentina. The parasites were characterized by morphological and molecular criteria. Their population descriptors were established on a sample of 112 hosts. The potential for migration to the skeletal muscle of the fishes was evaluated and the background on experimental infection of Contracaecum spp. in mammalian hosts is discussed. It is concluded that the third-stage juveni...

This article of reflection based on complex thinking and bibliographic review in dialogue with diverse disciplines and knowledge has the purpose of making the web of life more complex, integrating in a rhizomatic way teleological, cosmogonic, anthropological, sociological, biological, chemical, geological and quantum visions that account for the autopoiesis and the invaluable conditions of a living planet, but also to clarify the presence of a homo sapiens demens creator of an anthropocentric, capitalocentric and global modernity process that breaks the pristine relationship between human beings and nature and provokes poly crises represented by climate change, ecosystem decay, loss of biodiversity, greenhouse gases, lack of vital resources and pollution. In the analytical process based on complex thinking and hermeneutics of text and discourse, the academic and scientific sources were c...

This article reviews the tragic trajectory of Morococha mining site, through a historical exploration of the formation process of the mining complex. Likewise, it describes the living conditions of its population that remained trapped between an old Morococha city in ruins and the new Morococha, turned into a ghost town. It is, therefore, as the chronicle of a death foretold, that is reproduced over and over again in various contexts of the national space, such as the destiny or the fate of every mining center. This situation is reflected in the current days, due to people who manage economic policies, and assume that the prosperity of one country lies in the efficient exploitation of its comparative advantages, based on the exploitation of its minerals.

Persons find it difficult to know, identify and understand legal provisions, which being abundant coexist with the fluctuating case law, the doctrine, among other legal cognitive inputs. In view of the foregoing, this research attempts to overcome the problem of the cognoscibility of law through two practical applications of artificial intelligence – expert informative and cognitive legal systems – with the aim of ensuring better conditions of access, identification and comprehension of the law, by all persons, to suitably channel their behaviors. This scenario manages to configure a new interaction between the legal information and the persons, to attain further knowledge of the law as an ideal condition of legal security.

In the Great North of Chile, there are four port cities; Arica, Iquique, Tocopilla and Antofagasta. Cities that have in common geographical characteristics that shaped and limited their location, which, together with social and urban conditions, shaped the way of inhabiting the desert. Between 1936 and 1976, the housing complexes built by public, private and mixed institutions contributed to the consolidation and growth of these cities as well as becoming references and distinctive cases, not only of the production of modern Chilean architecture, but also installing a architectural modernity in an extreme landscape. Through the review of disciplinary publications, photographic records and field visits, this ongoing doctoral research seeks to reveal how housing complexes materialized ideas, visions and institutional policies that translate into distinctive architectural and urban dimensio...
