When we refer to pain, we are faced with an unpleasant sensation that causes certain reactions in the human body that prevent its production, so it is of vital importance to understand what the symptomatology of pain is, how it is produced and how it can be avoided. production, there are cases where the pain becomes pathological where found in the patient's thoughts, therefore the present work tries to demonstrate that its production can be avoided in the face of intense painful situations that occur when working in the recovery of the mobility of the patient. articulation of the knee, which by its nature is painful, added to the fear of feeling pain on the part of the patient does not help the patient's recovery, the experimentation consists of taking the pain from the approach of not thinking about it and relaxing and evaluating it by an environment of cerebral analysis through the lev...

Ischemic brain injury represents a major cause of death worldwide with limited treatment options with a narrow therapeutic window. Accordingly, novel treatments that extend the treatment from the early neuroprotective stage to the late regenerative phase may accommodate a much larger number of stroke patients. To this end, stem cell-based regenerative therapies may address this unmet clinical need. Several stem cell therapies have been tested as potentially exhibiting the capacity to regenerate the stroke brain. Based on the long track record and safety profile of transplantable stem cells for hematologic diseases, bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cells or mesenchymal stromal cells have been widely tested in stroke animal models and have reached clinical trials. However, despite the translational promise of MSCs, probing cell function remains to be fully elucidated. Recognizing th...

This paper intends to approach to the notion of ‘brain death’ as a paradigm used to determine ‘clinical death’, not as the death of the brain and the survival of the body, but rather as the cessation of all vital functions, i.e. death per se. This notion of ‘brain death’ will be analyzed based on what neurosciences can contribute today regarding the nature and complexity of the brain, and simultaneously, breaking new grounds when attempting to give an answer to this matter.

Intelligence is a construct of notable impact in our sociocultural context, related to a wide range of conceptual and operational definitions which originate positions that highlights cognitive and abstract elements and emotional and social skills, as well was perspectives that are focused on processes underlying the intelligent performance, such as in the case of executive functions (EFs), which are configured as cognitive processes that make it possible the self-regulation (Miyake & Friedman, 2012). Similarly, there are approaches that give intelligence a relevant and predictive role of school performance, an aspect strengthened by the psychometric perspective, where the concept of intelligence has been closely linked to learning. In this line, we also find the classical perspective of crystallized Intelligence of Cattell (1943), which refers to the knowledge acquired through educa...

Background:  The progress of any science, such as psychology, is achieved not only by accumulating empirical evidence but also by refining the conceptual structures that give theoretical meaning to such evidence. Objective: To analyze the concept of mental health and the logical-conceptual structure that supports it, describing its limitations and contradictions. Alternatively, based on the postulates of interbehavioral psychology, the concept of affective behavioral changes is proposed, and a classification of these changes is developed, based on the functional quality of the disturbed behavior. Method: This research is a theoretical study. Conclusions: Dualistic traditions in psychology have pathologized affective behavioral alterations as if they were diseases (mental or brain). The interbehavioral postulation outlined here is a conceptual alter...
