The textile industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world, due to the significant environmental impact it generates. Therefore, the adoption of measures to optimize its processes is necessary in order to reduce production times, as well as water and energy consumption. In this regard, this study conducted an analysis of cotton fiber production at ITESSA, a Peruvian textile company. The main objective was to optimize the dyeing process of cotton fibers using the DMAIC continuous improvement methodology. Through its implementation, it was identified that the dye used caused multiple delays in production, leading to a proposal for a change to the Grupo CHT brand dye, which allows dyeing with fewer baths and at a lower temperature without compromising color quality and intensity. With its application, the dyeing time was reduced by 10 hours, water consumption by 7500 liters, ...

In comparative law, frictions between the Judiciary and the Constitutional Tribunal are not new. As Garcia Belaunde recalls they have existed since the 60’s in Italy, from where the name «Battle of the Courts» originated, because the maximum judicial body in said country is the Court of Cassation and the concentrated body for constitutional control is the Constitutional Tribunal. The aforementioned phenomenon is replicated in Spain and in Colombia, where the incident is known as a «train crash». In our country, to debate whether the Constitutional Tribunal is hierarchically superior to the Judiciary is to mention the scope of Article 201 of the Constitution in force that defines the Constitutional Tribunal as the autonomous and independent «controlling body of the Constitution». However and strictly in relation to the foregoing, this article also tackles the binding precedent, a ...

Social innovation is recognized by multilateral organizations as a way to cope creatively and collaboratively with social demands that are not satisfied, neither from the public nor from the private. This challenge requires management reliable relationship between actors with diverse and sometimes conflicting interests. In this sense, the social function of public relations (PR) can provide an important service to prevent resistance to social changes that involve innovation processes. The literature consulted shows that theorizations on social innovation, recommend cultivating relational capital and theories and models PR provide methods and techniques to reliably achieve said capital. A documentary investigation and a case study based on the participatory-action-research that is the basis of a theoretical prot-model ofintervention of reliable PR in social innovation processes. It’s a ...

Directed evolution allows us to explore protein functionalities not required in the natural environment. It mimics natural genetic processes and selective pressures. This approach is used when the molecular basis is not completely understood and rational design is a difficult task. This approach consists of serial cycles of consecutive diversification and selection which eventually lead to the accumulation of beneficial mutations. Here are presented two cases where directed evolution is used to modify two different proteins: Taq polymerase, enzyme used for DNA extension in PCR, and the LacI repressor protein which regulates gene expression on E.coli.

In the present study, the control of the pyrolysis temperature was carried out in a gasification process of eucalyptus wood, its prediction is made based on the operating parameters of the reactor to ensure the obtaining of a synthesis gas with the required quality. The results obtained from the mathematical modeling for the prediction of the pyrolysis temperature with the use of artificial intelligence techniques and the development of artificial neural networks are shown, with experimental data of the process. For this reason, an experimental statistical design of type 3n was implemented, with two additional replications, by means of which the training of an artificial neural network capable of predicting the pyrolysis temperature in a downdraft type gasifier with cogeneration was carried out. The prediction of the pyrolysis temperature has an error of 4.6 oC and an adjustment of 93.71...

In the university educational processes, one of the final processes is the completion of professional internships, which allow the student to carry out activities specific to his/her specialty. At the end of the procedure, a report is sent which is evaluated by 3 professors. The evaluations are mostly carried out qualitatively, which does not allow a final result for the student. The present research is carried out in order to analyze the qualitative results and transform them into a quantitative value, related to the approval or disapproval of the report, for which the fuzzy logic technique is used, with which we obtain a final grade. The proposal also includes a web system that can support the processes of student registration, entry of documents and final results, in such a way that they can be accessed without having to be on the university campus. The documentary processing processe...
