The teaching of human parasitology is essential for students of health sciences, especially medicine, because it is a major global public health problem―occurring with high frequency in low-income countries―and because of its presence in countries considered developed. In this sense, it is estimated that worldwide there are 2,800 million individuals infected with soil-transmitted helminths, 20 to 30% people infected with Toxoplasma gondii, 300 to 500 million new cases of malaria per year, and nearly 15 million Latin Americans with Chagas disease, an infection caused by Trypanosoma cruzi. This narrative review article analyzes information available in digital repositories on aspects of the traditional educational program of human or medical parasitology using descriptors or keywords closely related to the topic. The reviewed articles were mainly those published in peer-reviewed, index...

The mere mention comes to the fore old fears and myths, but thanks to these programs have been able to go banishing. Cognitivist theories like Piaget, Ausubel and sociological program itself (Vygotsky, etc.) are strong support for design, implementation and success. COSOME had low or medium low performance, prompting the application of this fun program to reverse the situation. Thus, an investigation was carried out (according to Hernandez, Fernandez and Baptista, 2010) in...

Although the relationship between programming, robotics and education has a long history, these specific knowledge and skills were not explicitly included in the official documents of the Latin American education policy until recently. Argentina is the first South American country in which programming and robotics are included in the basic contents of compulsory education. In this article, based on a qualitative analysis of a set of official documents, we propose to explore the arguments favoring the inclusion of programming and robotics in formal education, and the way in which they are suggested to be incorporated in classrooms.

This is a research (Molina, 2005) that approached the subject of community contribution in students formation. Clearly, we are referring to the study of exterior resources outside the school such as parks and public gardens, themain interest is to know the didactic-pedagogic capacity of these places and the way they can be used. Another interest is to obtain information to direct the organization of educational experiences in such contexts, we should know the elements that, coordinated properly, should make possible the accomplishment of formative experiences. As our contribution we share the results about “activities”; we consider these activities are a fundamental element for the application of educational programs. The presentation of a large variety of suggestions about curricular activities carried out in parks and public gardens, reveals the recognition of the teachers of the f...

This study examines the relationship between LMS (Learning Management System) software and remote teaching in the Second Professional Specialization Program (PSEP) at the Faculty of Education Sciences (FCED) of the National University of Huancavelica (UNH) during the academic year 2022. The hypothesis posits that the implementation of LMS software significantly enhances remote teaching in this program. Using a quantitative, explanatory approach and an experimental-correlational design, a sample of 211 participants was selected from a population of 935. Two online questionnaires were administered to collect and analyze the data. The statistical results confirm the hypothesis with a significance level of α = 0.05 and a correlation of r=0.763, demonstrating a considerable positive correlation between LMS software and remote teaching. These findings highlight the importance of LMS software ...

From an action research it is sought to identify the necessary elements to incorporate the psychoeducational approach to the educational management of a Family Residence in the south of Chile. The qualitative techniques of interviews and participatory diagnostic workshop were used to produce data. The results refer to components of the psychoeducational approach such as, their understanding of the relationship helps, the strategies to use the shared experience and the tools of diagnosis, planning and evaluation, positively influence the educational management of the center. Its incorporation requires a systematic and permanent process over time, as well as the confluence of the presence of criteria and conditions for its appropriation as an approach and intervention methodology by the center’s staff.

Disinformation is an increasingly sophisticated (Frau-Meigs 2022) and normalized phenomenon in the digital ecosystem, which makes it urgent to implement solutions that strengthen the resilience of audiences. Media literacy and verification are the responses that have received the most impetus and the relationship between the two disciplines has become closer (Frau-Meigs 2022). Digital literacy has shifted to an interpretative approach as an essential tool to counter misinformation (Sábada and Salaverría 2023; Roozenbeek et al., 2022). While the activity of fact checkers has been consolidated and in recent years many fact checkers have implemented literacy as part of their professional activities, some academic circles refer to them as ‘second generation’ fact checking organizations (Çömlekçi, 2022). We understand that this is a trend and from this perspective, we propose an expl...
