Although the relationship between programming, robotics and education has a long history, these specific knowledge and skills were not explicitly included in the official documents of the Latin American education policy until recently. Argentina is the first South American country in which programming and robotics are included in the basic contents of compulsory education. In this article, based on a qualitative analysis of a set of official documents, we propose to explore the arguments favoring the inclusion of programming and robotics in formal education, and the way in which they are suggested to be incorporated in classrooms.

Si bien la relación entre la programación, la robótica y la educación tiene una larga historia, estos saberes y habilidades específicos no fueron incluidos de forma explícita en los documentos oficiales de la política educativa de América Latina hasta épocas recientes. Argentina es el primer país de América del Sur en el que la programación y la robótica se incluyen entre los contenidos básicos de la educación obligatoria. En este artículo, a partir de un análisis cualitativo de un conjunto de documentos oficiales, proponemos explorar la forma en la que se argumenta a favor de la inclusión de la programación y la robótica en la educación formal y el modo en el que se propone incorporarlas en el aula.

This article has been elaborated with the purpose of revising the teaching formation in service of the public school teachers, especially in Peru, helping to understand the teaching formation itself as a complex phenomenon, with multiple sides. The process of creation of the educational policies must be in accordance with plans that come after them. The politics and the programs of training argue, among their objectives, the possibility of transforming the practice in something better, the article analyzes the process to achieve the transformation. Additionally, a brief presentation of the program of teaching formation, implemented by the Ministry of Education in 2002, is shown.

The article exposes the results of a critical analysis of the implementation process of the program Escuela Nueva in Colombia. It proposes a review at the policy borrowing process from an international perspective, as well as a description of the dynamics of implementation within the Colombian context. For such aim, an exhaustive analysis was performed by implementing a qualitative documentary review, using a typological sample selection of sources. The conclusions suggest the need to consider attendance and transition indicators as key elements for decision making regarding the continuity, diversification and improvement of the program, as well as the urgency of unifying the national goals in pursuit of a coordinated implementation of rural programs.

This study has the goal of comprehending the process of decentralization of the educational policies on the municipality management, aiming at the identification of the autonomy of the municipality on the elaboration and implementation of the Joint Action Plan (PAR) in four different locations in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, in the period 2007-2010, technically and financially supported by the Union. In labor markets where disadvantaged students are discriminated against, merit-based college scholarships targeting these students could convey two opposing signals to employers. There is a positive signal reflecting the candidate’s cognitive ability (talented in high-school and able to maintain a high GPA in college) as well as her soft skills (overcoming poverty). There is also a possible negative signal as the targeting of the scholarship indicates that the beneficiary comes from a disadvantaged household. We conduct a correspondence study to analyze the labor market impact of an inclusive education program. Plagiarism is a serious, yet widespread type of research misconduct, and is often neglected in developing countries.
