Determina las características del acto quirúrgico en exodoncias realizadas en el Servicio de Cirugía Bucomaxilofacial de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos durante el periodo académico 2024-II. Estudio descriptivo, observacional y retrospectivo. Se analizaron 230 historias clínicas seleccionadas por muestreo no probabilístico, excluyendo aquellas con datos incompletos o sin consentimiento informado, posteriormente la información fue recolectada mediante una ficha estructurada y procesada para su análisis. La mayoría de los pacientes fueron adultos (70,43%), con predominio del sexo femenino (56,52%), siendo el grupo molar fue el más frecuentemente extraído (60,43%) y la necrosis pulpar el diagnóstico más común (57,39%). Muchas veces es difícil interpretar la información que los estados y flujos financieros nos pueden brindar y darle sentido a aquellos indicadores que nos entregan datos comparativos o relativos. In this paper we investigate the connection between the number of competitors and the sustainability of collusion within the context of a infinitely repeated symmetric Cournot model where only a subset of firms cooperate. We show that, in our model, an increase in the number of cartel firms may increase collusion likelihood by diminishing the negative effects for collusion of the existence of a competitive fringe. Also, we show that an increase in the number of fringe firms makes collusion harder to sustain.

Purpose: This study aims to conduct a meta-analysis and literature review on the effects of recessions on consumer brand evaluations. It examines how downturns influence various evaluation dimensions through the lens of Skinner’s contingency theory. Design/methodology/approach: This study reviewed literature from January 2000 to December 2023 for a psychometric meta-analysis, incorporating 155 effect sizes and 4,025,156 observations. It applied psychometric corrections and random-effects estimation. The literature review includes 47 studies. Findings: Recessions negatively affect consumer brand evaluations. Significant and predominantly negative relationships are observed between general brand impressions and brand-related consumer activity. El trabajo de suficiencia profesional se enfoca en el desarrollo de una estrategia integral de marketing para Resocentro Juliaca, a través de una investigación de estudio de caso, con el objetivo de fortalecer la demanda y la percepción de la marca en el mercado. La metodología adoptada incluye un análisis cualitativo y un estudio de caso, que subrayan la necesidad de acciones de marketing específicas, tales como campañas publicitarias y visitas médicas personalizadas, para destacar atributos de alta calidad y tecnología de punta de la empresa. Nowdays, Corporate social responsibility has been studied by several authors, some of them focus in stakeholder theory, which has been proposed by many authors such as Freeman, 1984; Mitchell et al., 1997; Kaptein and Van Tulder, 2003 and Aguinis & Glavas, 2011. These studies have identified some relationships between financial results, management and development of business strategies. One of these strategies identify, is related to how the groups of interest impact in risk management and particularly in reputational risk in the organizations. This paper seeks to identify the theoretical framework related to these two variables (interest groups and reputational risks). Besides, the future study will focus in an emerging market country.

In this paper I study the main determinants of successful reaccess to international capital markets on a set of emerging market countries after a financial crisis. I focus on three components of the reaccess strategy: commitment to pay, ability to pay, and global liquidity. I employ a panel of 49 countries over a nearly 30-year period and apply a simple probit approach to show that, indeed, a sound external position and a sustainable debt profile, accompanied by a favorable global liquidity environment, are the key considerations for creditors considering whether to resume lending.

El presente trabajo relaciona las características del intercambio comercial y de inversiones entre América Latina y la Unión Europea con la especialización productiva de los países de la región. La principal conclusión del artí- culo es que la estrategia de inversión de las empresas europeas en América Latina, particularmente en América del Sur, no tuvieron un efecto similar, en términos de la especialización productiva de la región, el comercio bilateral y el comercio intrarregional, al de las inversiones estadounidenses en México, América Central y el Caribe. El documento concluye con una serie de recomendaciones de política orientadas a modificar la especialización productiva de América Latina.

El artículo presenta el inicio de una investigación en marcha sobre la evolución de las competencias de las empresas como resultado de las nuevas tecnologías en los servicios turísticos. Después de definir la desintermediación y analizar la dinámica de los principales actores de la industria del turismo, el documento desarrolla un modelo cuantitativo y cualitativo para evaluar el impacto de la desintermediación sobre las competencias esenciales en cada uno de los actores estudiados. Finalmente, evalúa los beneficios de esta nueva forma de mediación en el sistema turístico.

Se propone realizar una investigación de la piratería desde la perspectiva de la conducta del consumidor. El estudio busca entender el impacto de la tecnología y los derechos de propiedad intelectual en el comportamiento de compra del consumidor. Ello permitirá que los legisladores y reguladores enriquezcan sus intervenciones y que las empresas mejoren sus estrategias de márketing a fin de afianzar y no confrontar su relación con el consumidor. Al mejorar las acciones de estos dos actores, debe reducirse la violencia legal originada por la promulgación de dispositivos que no son legitimados por el consumidor, e indirectamente disminuir la informalidad. El estudio se concreta a la piratería musical, de películas y de libros.

Nowadays, the companies and financial institutions from emerging markets are looking forward for more space in the international market. They have found several alternatives and one of them is to implement process and procedures in order to be more efficient and offer better conditions to the local and foreign customers. One of these alternatives is to implement internal standards not only following corporate governance policies but also, implementing international standards such as ISO norms. This paper seeks to show the evolution of initial ISOs most frequently used in the financial emerging markets.

We consider a multi-period oligopoly model to analyze cartel sustainability where a subset of collusive firms is exogenously given. We assume that in case of cheating only the cheater is expelled from the cartel and collusion continues without the cheater. We show that, in our model, when firms compete in quantities and the cartel is sufficiently small, a Stackelberg leader cartel can always be sustained if firms are patient enough. Furthermore, in this case collusion is more easily sustained than when firms play grim trigger strategies. The opposite result is obtained in a price-setting supergame with differentiated products.

Gaussian processes that can be decomposed into a smooth mean function and a stationary autocorrelated noise process are considered and a fully automatic nonparametric method to simultaneous estimation of mean and auto-covariance functions of such processes is developed. The proposed empirical Bayes approach is data-driven, numerically efficient, and allows for the construction of confidence sets for the mean function. Performance is demonstrated in simulations and real data analysis. The method is implemented in the R package eBsc.

The paper shed the light in analyzing the efficiency of Peruvian Government Financial Support in comparison with some countries in the Latin American Region and worldwide. The Covid 19 Pandemic enforced governments to apply the “Hammer Blow” which affected negatively the economy producing recession and unemployment. Governments offset the latter effect by applying subsidy policies to the Poor and then reduce the negative economic consequences of the general lockdown without getting COVID. Our study performs a Difference and Difference Model (DID) to evaluate the effectiveness of the latter policy.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a concept used by firms to obtain competitiveness. Although the focus of academic research has been on identifying the link between financial and social performance, the causal evidence of this relationship remains unclear. Our research attempts to fill this gap by validating hypotheses indicating that the effect of CSR on business competitiveness requires integrating other variables. The literature review shows limited research conducted on CSR and professional sports in emerging countries. Our article fills these gaps by investigating the effect of CSR on competitiveness of football teams. Our results will expand the applicability of CSR to other organizations, while at the same time offering recommendations to a sector with economic and sociological global repercussions.

El presente trabajo analiza cómo la apertura comercial y la especiali- zación productiva han tenido un impacto favorable en el crecimiento económico de América Latina en el período 1980-2000. Los resultados empíricos muestran que el crecimiento económico, medido por el PBI per cápita, está positivamente relacionado con la apertura comercial y la especialización productiva. Especializarse en exportaciones manufactureras, por ejemplo, contribuye más al crecimiento del PBI per cápita que el especializarse en materias primas y recursos naturales. En este sentido, el artículo confirma la importancia de abrir la economía y aumentar el comercio, pero advierte acerca de la importancia de mirar cómo y en qué tipo de actividades económicas se integra la economía a la economía mundial.
