Oblique rotation of factors is usually performed in exploratory factor analysis in order to achieve the best and simplest interpretation of the solution based on the prescribed number of factors. Currently available algorithms, however, do not take into account the fluctuation of the correlations on which the factor solution is based. If such correlations’ stability is low, the rotated solution obtained in a specific sample may substantially differ from the rotated solutions obtained in different samples from the same population. The present paper proposes a modified version of the Promin rotation designed to achieve simple and stable rotated solutions through the samples. The usefulness of Robust Promin is illustrated by using an empirical example based on a real dataset. The procedure proposed in this paper has been implemented in the FACTOR factor analysis program version 10.9.

Although frontal prominence is an infrequent benign defect that causes no sequelae, it gives the patient distress due to its unaesthetic visual aspect. Proper surgical recontouring of the forehead can radically change one's appearance. In consequence, different techniques have been proposed for its management and correction. The aim of this study is to describe a surgical algorithm to treat male patients with forehead reduction to soften the forceful look. An observational cross-sectional study was conducted at the head and neck surgery ward of a general hospital between 2019 and 2022. We performed 35 forehead reduction operations on male patients. The median age was 29 years (range, 26-32 years). The forehead reduction procedures performed was categorized as follows: 27 anterior table osteotomy and 8 anterior table osteotomy contouring. OBJETIVO: Establecer los parámetros de normalidad de los tejidos blandos en una población adulta peruana con características cefalométricas armónicas, según el análisis de Holdaway. METODOLOGÍA: La muestra estuvo conformada por 25 radiografías cefalométricas de pacientes de 20-40 años de edad con perfil facial armónico, de clase I, en los cuales se midió el análisis cefalométrico de Holdaway y se comparó con las normas existentes. This article rescues two characters from historiographical oblivion: Remigio Silva from Lima and Fernando López Aldana from Bogotá. In different contexts, both assumed key roles as emissaries of General José de San Martín before his landing in Peru. Silva played a relevant role in the success of Lord Cochrane’s naval expedition, while López Aldana was a popularizer of San Martín propaganda in Lima. The prominence of Silva and López Aldana was key in the “undercover war” within the viceroyalty that simultaneously connected Rio de la Plata, Chileans and Peruvians.

The author critically analyzes the prevailing relationship between comparative civil procedure and the positivist method. He argues that the prominence of the principle of legality within civil procedure, combined with its conception as an ideologically neutral instrument, has reduced legal comparison to a mere description of foreign rules and institutions. In contrast, the author emphasizes the importance of methodological pluralism in approaching comparative civil procedure, highlighting the link between the aims of the comparison and the method employed.
