Objetive: To determine the photodynamic effect of methylene blue (MB) and toluidine blue (TBO) activated with therapeutic laser on Streptococcus mutans and Candida albicans biofilms. Material and methods: Sixty-one biofilm samples were analyzed in brain heart culture media (BHI) for 6 days, the samples were divided into 4 groups and immersed in: experimental group in 0.01% MB and 0.05% TBO, positive control group in 0.12% chlorhexidine gluconate (CHX) and negative control group in 0.9% sodium chloride (NaCl). The MB and TBO samples were irradiated with therapeutic laser with a wavelength of 660 nm, and 9 J/cm2 of power, each enamel block was in post-irradiation culture. We present a case of a 35 year-old woman who had multiple bony fractures, short size, left xyphoescoliosis, blue sclerae, functional limitation of the hips, dentinogenesis imperfecta, severe osteoporosis and conduction hypoacusia. We review the types of osteogenesis imperfecta, clinical presentation, differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.

In rural areas of Huancavelica, Huánuco, Ayacucho, Apurimac and Cajamarca. There is an abundant natural resource called blue sisal. There is information that in the southern departments the sisal juice is processed handmade to obtain honey and brown sugar, which are used as a sweetener. Given this situation, it is needed a blue sisal juice physicochemical analysis to identify some properties, mainly the content of inulin having dietary properties. Experimental tests show that this juice found in natural resource contains high content of inulin and total solids (fructose, glucose and others). Based on the above, the industrial processing is feasible; contributing in this way to improve the standard of living of the rural population where this natural resource is abundant.

Se analiza la relación entre los aspectos psicosociales con el Blues Materno en madres atendidas en el Centro de Salud Maritza Campos Díaz, Zamácola. Se aplicó como instrumentos el Cuestionario de Factores Psicosociales y la Escala del Blues Materno de Lima (EBML). La población estuvo conformada por 115madres puérperas que cumplieron criterios de inclusión. Los resultados más significativos demuestran que el riesgo de Blues materno es intermedio en 46,96% de madres y que los factores personales, familiares y académicos se relacionan de forma significativa al nivel de riesgo (p > 0,05). Objetivo: El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar y comparar la Resistencia a la Fatiga Cíclica de los Sistemas Reciprocantes de aleación Níquel-Titanio Blue, Reciproc Blue y AF Blue R3 Reciprocating. Materiales y Métodos: Para alcanzar los objetivos propuestos en este trabajo de investigación, fue necesario premunir la disponibilidad de recursos humanos, económicos y materiales. Entre los recursos materiales tenemos 15 instrumentos de Reciproc Blue (25/06, 25 mm) y 15 instrumentos de AF Blue Reciprocating (25/06, 25mm). Objective. To determine whether the presence of blue-green inclusions in neutrophils and monocytes should be considered a critical risk result (CRR). Methods. A review of scientific articles published between 2017 and 2023 was performed to assess whether the presence of blue-green inclusions matches the definition of CRR. Results. The finding of blue-green inclusions has been associated with an elevated risk of short-term mortality and is usually associated with severe liver damage. However, it has also been reported in clinically stable patients. Conclusions. Blue-green inclusions should be assessed based on the patient's clinical condition and in conjunction with other laboratory findings. We cannot state that the isolated presence of these inclusions can be considered a CRR.

Objetivo: Comparar la resistencia a la fatiga cíclica de los instrumentos de niquel-titanio (NiTi) Reciproc Blue (RB) y Rec Blue file (RBF) con y sin inmersión en hipoclorito de sodio (NaOCl) al 5%. Materiales y Métodos: Estudio experimental in vitro aplicado en una muestra de 36 limas reciprocantes de 25 mm de longitud distribuidas en cuatro grupos según tipo de lima (RB y RBF) y de inmersión en NaOCl por 5 minutos (con y sin). Se midió el tiempo de resistencia a la fatiga cíclica en segundos (s) en canal simulado con ángulo de 45°. Resultados: El tiempo de resistencia a la fatiga cíclica fue estadísticamente inferior en la lima RBF con inmersión (123,53 s) en comparación a los demás grupos (256,40 s a 302,58 s) (P=0,000). Respecto a la metodología se utilizó un estudio de tipo descriptiva, el diseño fue no experimental de corte transversal. The Blue-headed macaw (Primolius couloni) is considered a New World endangered parrot. Blood samples were collected from 13 captive blue-headed macaws (7 male, 6 female) housed in the Las Leyendas Zoological Park in Lima, Peru to establish hematologic reference values. Mean values for erythrocytes and leukocytes were 2608 x 103/ml and 10.11 x 103/ml respectively; hematocrit was 50.15% and mean corpuscular volume was 200 fl. The differential leukocyte count showed 64.7 and 25.3% of heterophils and leukocytes respectively. The largest and smallest diameter of erythrocytes was 11.3 and 7.0 μm respectively. Baseline hematologic ranges were established and can be used as reference values for this species.

Biosorption is an effective process for removing synthetic dyes from aqueous solutions. The use of prickly pear cladode biomass (PCB) was studied to remove the methylene blue cationic dye (MB) from the aqueous solution. The characterization techniques: FTIR, SEM and point of zero load (pHPZC) show the chemical and physical characteristics of PCB. Experimental parameters that affect the biosorption process, such as pH, contact time and biomass / volume dose, were evaluated in a continuous system. The equilibrium experimental data were adjusted to the Langmuir isotherm model, the maximum biosorption capacity of the MB was 156.25 mg / g with a dose of PCB/volume of 4 g / L, pH 8 and contact time of 120 min.
