OBJETIVO: Determinar la relación entre el estado nutricional y las complicaciones post- operatorias de pacientes intervenidos por peritonitis. MÉTODOS: Se valoró el estado nutricional de 45 pacientes intervenidos por peritonitis con pruebas antropométricas, hematológicas, antropométricas y Escala de Riego Nutricional (NRS); las complicaciones post- operatorias fueron determinadas según el sistema de clasificación Dindo- Clavien. RESULTADOS: 23 (51,1%) pacientes fueron mujeres. La desnutrición, de acuerdo al, IMC, linfocitos y NRS fue 17,8%; 91,1% 75,6% respectivamente. Al realizar el análisis de contingencia utilizando la técnica de D´Somers, se obtuvo relación directa y significativa entre el estado nutricional según IMC, linfocitos y NRS con la presencia de complicaciones. Objective. To determine whether the presence of blue-green inclusions in neutrophils and monocytes should be considered a critical risk result (CRR). Methods. A review of scientific articles published between 2017 and 2023 was performed to assess whether the presence of blue-green inclusions matches the definition of CRR. Results. The finding of blue-green inclusions has been associated with an elevated risk of short-term mortality and is usually associated with severe liver damage. However, it has also been reported in clinically stable patients. Conclusions. Blue-green inclusions should be assessed based on the patient's clinical condition and in conjunction with other laboratory findings. We cannot state that the isolated presence of these inclusions can be considered a CRR.
