description Objetivo: Determinar el consumo de bebidas energizantes como factor asociado al consumo de alcohol en estudiantes de Medicina de tercero y quinto año de la Universidad Privada Antenor en el Período 2016. Material y Método: Se realizó un estudio observacional, analítico, transversal y prospectivo con un total de 326 encuestas realizadas a estudiantes del tercero y quinto año de Medicina y de las cuales 214 alumnos manifestaron consumir bebidas energizantes, de esta cantidad se determinó quienes consumían también alcohol (n=196) y quienes no (n=18). Resultados : El total de estudiantes consumidores de bebidas energizantes se representó con el 65.6% de los encuestados es decir 214 alumnos, de los cuales 37.7% eran tercer año y un 27.9% de quinto año. Asimismo de los 326 alumnos en total , el 79.4% eran consumidores de bebidas alcohólicas que son 259, de los cuales 40.2% eran de tercer año y 39.3% de quinto año. De las encuestas obtenidas el 60.1% es decir 196 estudiantes que consumían bebidas energizantes, también eran consumidores de alcohol (X 0.01 OR:8.46 IC 95 %) Conclusiones: El consumir bebidas energizantes es un factor asociado al consumo de alcohol en estudiantes de Medicina de tercero y quinto año. 2 = 56.2 P <
