Objectives: To assess the antioxidant capacity and the gastric mucosa cytoprotection effect by Solanum tuberosum juice. Design: Experimental. Objectives: To assess the accuracy of clinical laboratories in Lima in the determination of glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides. Design: Descriptive. Location: Center for Research in Biochemistry and Nutrition, Faculty of Medicine, San Marcos University, and clinical laboratories participating in Lima. Materials: Serum samples from donors. Interventions: Prior informed consent, serum samples were sent in 4-6°C cold chain to 88 blind duplicate clinical laboratories sampled. La inexatitud es el grado en el que un valor se aleja del valor verdadero. La investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la inexactitud en las determinaciones bioquímicas de glucosa, colesterol y triglicéridos, en laboratorios clínicos de Lima Metropolitana. Para esto se invitó a participar a los laboratorios clínicos de manera anónima y con consentimiento informado. Se remitió un suero control comercial univalor de glucosa, colesterol y triglicéridos por el método enzimático colorimétrico, preparado por nosotros y conservado en cadena de frío. Se utilizó el resultado enviado por los laboratorios participantes y se compararon con los del suero control. Objective: To determine the protective effect of the aqueous extract of the pods of Caesalpinia spinosa (Molina) Kuntze “tara” in the gastric mucosa of experimental animals. Design: Experimental. Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is calculated by the endogenous creatinine clearance (DCE) in 24-hour urine, with limited collection and difficulties for patients. There are formulas proposed to estimate renal function. Objective. To use the Cockcroft-Gaul formula of glomerular filtration and to compare it with the chemical colorimetric method in pregnant women. Design. Objetivo:  Determinar  la  percepción  del  gastroenterólogo  sobre  las  necesidades  de  educación  médica  continua  (EMC)  en el Perú. Material y métodos: Estudio transversal y descriptivo. La muestra fue no probabilística. Se aplicó una encuesta a los gastroenterólogos miembros de la Sociedad de Gastroenterología del Perú. Objective. To analyze the level of knowledge and perception of palliative care among anesthesiology residents in three public hospitals in Lima. Methods. An observational study was conducted, evaluating anesthesiology residents through a questionnaire (Paliative Care Knowlege Test, Spanish version) and five opinion questions applied between June and July 2021. The questionnaire, validated by experts, investigated aspects such as training received in palliative care, previous training, inclination to work in multidisciplinary teams and interest in future specialization in palliative care. To the Editor, Spinal anesthesia is considered the technique of choice in most cesareans, with hypotension being the most common adverse effect. The symptoms that frequently accompany hypotension are: nausea, vomiting, dyspnea and neonatal deleterious effects, among them, low Apgar score and acidosis in cord blood gas analysis1. The question is what is the most effective strategy to prevent and treat hypotension secondary to spinal anesthesia for caesarean section? It is crucial in obstetric anesthesia and the response is related to the physiological events that lead to hypotension. For many years the administration of a volume of crystalloids prior to the placement of spinal anesthesia was mandatory, just as ephedrine was considered the vasopressor of choice to treat such hypotension.
