Dendrochronological studies in the peruvian nort coast to find records of past El Niño - Southern Oscillation (ENSO) events began an the ale 80's. The peruvian north coast is the west-most area of South America, close to equator (05o S 80o W) and to the Sechura desert, is a very sensitive area to the climatic changes due to ENSO. An initial selection of several regional trees have been done for study. The study includes phenological observations and tree ring characteristics analysis as well as racial growth control of tree trunks and branches. The species more intensively studied and suitable to fina records due to the ENSO are Palo Santo, Hualtaco and Sapote.

Objetivo. Determinar el perfil clínico del tratamiento de la infección del tracto urinario (ITU) con antibióticos de amplio espectro en el Hospital Central de la Fuerza Aérea del Perú, entre los meses de Agosto y Noviembre del 2012. Materiales y métodos Estudio observacional, descriptivo y transversal realizado en el Hospital Central de la Fuerza Aérea de Lima-Perú, entre los meses de Agosto y Noviembre del 2012. Se tomo 71 historias clínicas de pacientes con diagnóstico de ITU que recibieron antibióticos de amplio espectro. Se analizó las variables con frecuencias (cualitativas), medidas de tendencia central y dispersión (cuantitativas). Los datos fueron procesados en el paquete estadístico STATA 11.0. Resultados. The world societies go through a very rapid transformation like result, between other things, to the incorporation of the technologies to all the ambiences of the personal and social life. Switzerland as other countries is not foreign tothese changes and in the educational ambience, it offers across its Curricula 21 an alternative according to the current requirements. The education in Switzerland is a competence transferred in 26 Cantons that shape the Swiss Confederacy.Twenty-one Cantons of German speech received the Curricula 21 for the harmonization of the obligatory school in the frame of the interactional Concordat HarmoS. The target of the Concordat consists of improving the quality of theobligatory public education and overcoming the obstacles that make the educational mobility difficult between the cantons.

The geometric alteration of slopes is a reality that can be observed in several districts of the Peruvian capital. The construction of houses, roads, and other infrastructure can produce some slope instability and cause tragic events. Thus, a stability analysis was carried out for a slope located in the San Juan de Lurigancho district, specifically in the Virgen de Fátima sector. Therefore, for the present investigation, two models were made with the help of Phase2 software to identify the resistance reduction factors (SFR), which is a finite element-based program. To start the analysis, possible failures were identified, demonstrating that the slope does not present any possibility of failure. Dryland ecosystems are considered the largest global carbon sink. However, extreme climate phenomena like the El Niño events (EN) may change soil respiration (Rs) – the CO2 emitted from soils resulting from biological activity and the largest outgoing flux of carbon from terrestrial ecosystems. Our aim was to study the effect of the EN on Rs in the North Peruvian dryland forest, and its interaction with soil temperature and the tree canopy. Our results indicate that Rs during the EN years increased by a factor of 100 compared to normal years, but this effect was exacerbated by the proximity to trees. Only under trees and during the EN event temperature exerted a positive control over daily Rs fluctuations. Introduction: The role of the type, stage and status of cancer in the outcome of COVID-19 remains unclear. Moreover, the characteristic pathological changes of severe COVID-19 reveled by laboratory and radiological findings are similar to those due to the development of cancer itself and antineoplastic therapies. Objective: To identify potential predictors of mortality of COVID-19 in cancer patients. Background: Patients' lack of knowledge about their own disease may function as a barrier to shared decision-making and well-being. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of written educational materials on breast cancer patients. Methods: This multicenter, parallel, unblinded, randomized trial included Latin American women aged ≥18 years with a recent breast cancer diagnosis yet to start systemic therapy. Participants underwent randomization in a 1:1 ratio to receive a customizable or standard educational brochure. The primary objective was accurate identification of molecular subtype.
