The marking or tagging of turtles is a widely used to facilitate the monitoring of population demography, structure, and conservation of species. Even though they are used in many studies of turtle demography, the available methods are not very efficient, except for microchips (Passive Intergraded Transponder/PIT tags); however, the latter is too expensive to be used on a large scale. Here we present a viable, cost-effective tagging alternative that uses a durable plastic cattle tag and pin. Turtles in the genus Podocnemis were tagged in the Lower-Amazon region, west of the state of Pará, Amazon, Brazil. Records of interactions of pumas with rural communities (n= 7) are registered from 2013 to 2017, four of them with attacks on domestic herds, which resulted in the persecution and death of the puma. In the remaining three records, without damage to domestic herds, the puma was captured, either by the community, or by the public service, and translocated by the public service to a new area. Despite the low sample size, the results revealed: (1) That, there are cases in which the population does not eliminate the feline promptly, but calls for assistance from the authorities; (2) That the authorities react as best they can to carry out translocations - in spite of that, in one occasion a wild puma was sent to a zoo and in other it was killed, which requires the implementation of a standardized protocol to aid decision making in these situations. Para el presente estudio, fueron adquiridos 276 atunes, entre enero de 2000 y diciembre de 2002, en mercados de peces, siendo 107 ejemplares de Katsuwonus pelamis (Linnaeus, 1758), 5 Auxis thazard (Lacepède, 1800), 92 Thunnus albacares (Bonnaterre, 1788), 30 Thunnus atlanticus (Lesson, 1830), 25 Thunnus obesus (Lowe, 1839), y 17 Thunnus thynnus (Linnaeus, 1758) pescados en el municipio de Cabo Frio, Estado de Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. Cincuenta y seis (20,28%) de los peces fueron parasitados por lo menos con una especie de parásito. Recientemente, se han presentado datos sobre lista de verificación de los platelmintos parásitos de los seres humanos depositados en Helminthological Colección del Instituto Oswaldo Cruz (CHIOC), Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. El presente estudio se relaciona con la lista de verificación de los nematodos parásitos de humanos. Existen varios tipos de helmintos depositados en la CHIOC, incluidos los parásitos de importancia médica y veterinaria. Las muestras están depositadas como material líquido o montaje final. Para obtener el conocimiento de los nematodos que parasitan al hombre depositados en CHIOC, se realizo un estudio de sus muestras en su base de datos informatizada y sus fichas de catálogo. El presente artículo describe la morfología del cráneo del piquero peruano Sula variegata (Tschudi, 1845), considerando su desarrollo ontogénico, y en comparación con otras especies de la familia Sulidae y, de forma complementaria, con otras familias del tradicional orden Pelecaniformes: Phalacrocoracidae, Anhingidae, Fregatidae, Phaetonthidae y Pelecanidae. En las comparaciones realizadas se pudieron encontrar características que comparte el piquero peruano con los demás miembros de la familia Sulidae, y otras que, en su conjunto, lo diferencian de las demás especies del género Sula. El día 10 de diciembre de 2012, se observó un ejemplar de gorrión casero Passer domesticus en las islas Lobos de Afuera. Este es el registro más oceánico de la especie dentro de su área de distribución en el Perú y el primero en las islas, con lo cual se eleva a 34 el número de especies reportadas para las mismas.

This paper examines the business strategies of the firm Aluminio Argentino (Aluar) since its inception in 1970 to the 2001 economic crisis. The commissioning of the plant was made possible by the tremendous support of the State and his performance coincided with a period of great macroeconomic instability and sharp reduction in domestic demand, deal with the aggravation of aninternational market marked by the recession which was held almost until the nineties. The study also illustrates the strategies of the business once the regulatory framework that gave rise disappeared and the company faced a strong competitive shock.

This study analyzes the transformations in the educational field that occurred during the first Peronist government in Jujuy (Argentina). We focus particularly on the reorganization and reform of the education system that followed the enactment of the Common and Special Education Law 1946. This article discusses how Argentine newspapers Clarín, La Nación and La Prensa informatively built the enactment of the Act called "Punto final" in December 1986 -during the government of Raul Alfonsín (1983-1989)-, which stipulated a deadline for filing legal complaints against members of the Argentine armed forces who had committed crimes during the clandestine repression ordered by the military dictatorship between 1976 and 1983. In a context where the military pressured the government not to be judged, the publications studied construct a scenario of urgency and need for reconciliation to resolve the conflict.

The scope of this paper is to make a feasibility analysis for energy production from sugarcane byproducts in Perú. Therefore, it is shown the history, methods, current scenario and future prospects of sugarcane plantations related to the ethanol industry and the sugar industry. There will be shown analysis of harvest residues (top and leaves). Bagasse is a mill residue, produced after sugarcane juice is extracted from the sugarcane. Nowadays this residue is burnt in boilers and this energy is used to generate steam. In the other hand, harvest residues represent a significant part of the energy contained in the sugarcane, but it is left in the field, or worse; burnt before the harvest. There will also be shown an estimated value of the electricity generation potential from sugarcane residues.

This study aims to show the methodology and results related to the calculation of fluidization velocities in a bubbling fluidized bed gasifier. The pressure drops encountered by a fluidizing agent in the particle bed are also exposed. Velocity calculation is important because it enables a good fluidization, which induces a uniform distribution of particles. The good distribution of particles causes a uniform distribution of temperatures in the gasifier where the thermochemical reactions of the process are performed. Biomass functions as a reactor fuel, and accurate fluidization provides a summarized way for correct gasification. Good calculation of pressure drop in the bed is vital for the correctly selecting a blower, a device responsible for providing the power and airflow necessary for fluidization.
