Libro "Los argonautas del Pacífico occidental de Bronislaw Malinowski"

This paper shows how we can use the Introduction of Bronislav Malinowski’s The Argonauts of the Western Pacific in our research today, a century later. In this specific case, and going through a double commemoration in 2022, I explain the logic with which I structured an ethnographic method class in April 2021. I did so by taking advantage of a subject that was foreign enough to my students, prompting them to raise questions and to understand the structure, the imponderabilia of real life and the natives’ mentality. In my own case, the natives are the real Other of the Argentine academia: the military sailors of the Argentine Navy, with whom I tried to understand how they experienced the Anglo-Argentine conflict for the Malvinas/Falklands and other South Atlantic Islands (1982).

El presente libro contiene los trabajos presentados en el IV Congreso Nacional de Investigación Antropológica que se ha realizado en Lima en el mes de agosto del 2005. En este trabajo se ha buscado hacer un balance, lo más detallado posible, de los más de 60 años de desarrollo de esta disciplina en el Perú. Lo que a su vez muestra su carácter reflexivo y evaluativo. Estamos convencidos que los cambios económicos, sociales y culturales que se vienen experimentando en nuestras sociedades requieren que haya un análisis y una reflexión, cada vez más acuciosos, sobre el sentido de lo que estos cambios implican y cómo inciden en las dinámicas individuales y sociales. En esta labor es importante generar espacios para evaluar el camino trazado por cada disciplina, y poder explicitar así sus tensiones, avances y retos.
