In manufacturing processes, there are conditions that continually impact decision-making among when choosing among alternatives; the selection is usually influenced by critical aspects such as quality, productivity, costs and customer feedback, among others. This article analyzes different adhesives for the process of gluing parts for sports shoes in a company located in the city of Purisima del Rincon in Guanajuato, México. The analysis employs statistical engineering tools and an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) methodology. The case studied deals with an issue with gluing parts. The glue currently employed is of good quality but has drawbacks such as its high cost and thickness, which leads to a time-consuming manual application, affecting productivity. We propose and apply an AHP model with input information obtained by means of industrial experimentation in order to select the best...

We are facing a very dynamic market, to which is added the digital transformation and the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, our consumer is much more informed and demanding, whose buying decision will depend not only on him but on their interactions with other consumers and the different ways of interacting using digital media. Therefore, the main objective of the article is to review the change that consumer behavior and its buying decision process have been having and how companies must take into account the new path of the consumer and thus develop their marketing strategies that stimulate the buying decision by achieving an experience with the consumer capable of creating deep emotional bonds and that concludes with the choice and loyalty of the brand; for this reason a matrix table has been prepared that reflects the evolution of this consumer, so the probability of doing a buying it...

It is important for small growing textile companies to make key decisions based on accurate and reliable information about the present production process and how future changes could affect them. Using traditional mathematical methods it is not possible to accurately and reliably reflect the real stochastic behaviour of processes and activities carried out in this industry. There are, however, information technologies such as the computer simulation technique that allow such information to be obtained taking this behaviour into account.he research carried out a simulation study of the garment making process of a small textile company in order to propose a better distribution of resources by experimenting with a simulation model of the process, In addition, some of the quantitative information obtained with this technique is presented. The results obtained show that making changes in assi...

Purpose: This paper aims to provide empirical evidence for using the prospect theory (PT) basic assumptions in the Argentine context. Mainly, this study analysed the financial decision-making process in students of the economic-administrative academic area of two universities, one public and one private, in Córdoba. Design/methodology/approach. The analysis methodology included (1) the descriptive statistical analysis to identify the presence of the certainty, reflection and isolation effects; (2) the construction of a set of indicators on the application of the PT; (3) the chi-squared independence test, to determine if the decisions made are independent of the degree course taken; (4) the non-parametric Kruskal–Wallis test, to determine if the decisions made by individuals vary according to the semesters taken or students' levels of progress; and (5) the non-parametric Mann–Whitney...

The analysis and strategic formulation is a strategic assessment and preparation process of designing the future of industry, business or enterprise. The goal is to develop some elements for discussion and unification of several directives conceptions. The phases of strategic analysis are five: 1) Input phase, summarizes initial data and raises the company’s strategic position and products, 2) Analysis phase, integrates external and internal factors and raises strategic alternatives, 3) Output phase consolidate all strategies considering their technical feasibility, 4) Qualifying phase of the alternatives that fulfill the condition F + D and create value, 5) Evaluation and decision, choosing strategies that deliver value to the company. The expected result considers that, from an initial situation where analysis and long-term projection of insufficient or non-existent it passes to new ...

The increase in the consumption of ultra-processed foods (UPF) is a global concern, associated with serious public health issues. In response, Peru implemented Law No. 30021, which requires warning labels on food products. However, the effectiveness of this measure largely depends on consumers' perception and behavior towards these labels. Therefore, the aim of the research was to evaluate the impact of implementing the warning system with octagons on consumers' perception of consumption and purchasing decisions of UPF. The study was conducted in the Moquegua district. A 24-item questionnaire was constructed using a 5-point Likert scale, showing acceptable reliability (α=0.8). Subsequently, 377 individuals between 18 and 65 years old were surveyed. The results reveal that the majority of respondents (97.9 %) recognize the octagons and consider it important to understand their message, a...

Public health systems have the great challenge of meeting the population's health needs with limited financial resources. Thus, to incorporate new health technologies (HT) in their coverage plans, they use tools that allow them to inform their decisions based on scientific evidence, such as health technology assessments (HTAs). These are developed in a multidisciplinary way, under an explicit methodology, which estimates the value of a technology. With this information, the decision-maker can support his decision, anticipate the impact of its implementation, plan actions, and set goals, all of which promote efficient use of resources, transparency of processes, and facilitate accountability. The Peruvian Social Security healthcare system (EsSalud) implemented, through the Instituto de Evaluación de Tecnologías en Salud e Investigación (IETSI), a decision-making process based on HTAs t...

Over the past few years, multi-family housing has been subject to increased complexity due to the demand in the housing market. Because of this, the subcontracting of precast concrete slabs is considered a good solution option due to its ample benefits such as time and labor savings. In addition, it is the most widely used structural element for this type of building. However, to obtain these benefits, a proper selection of precast concrete slab subcontractors is necessary. Therefore, it is necessary to have a selection method for the proper development of this process since a wrong decision will generate cost overruns and delays on site. Therefore, this research presents Choosing by Advantages (CBA) as a viable solution. The validation that is given through an expert judgment determines that the factors quality, delivery time and production capacity are the most important in the decisio...

Understanding why users continue or discontinue using specific technology is vital for its providers. Existing literature has explored the reasons for continuance and discontinuance by taking into account both rational and emotional factors. However, one question remains unanswered: Why do some users depend more on rational factors for decision-making, while others rely more on emotional factors? This study addresses this question by integrating cognitive decision-making styles and the fear of making incorrect decisions into traditional continued usage models. Data were gathered from 285 TV users and analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results demonstrate that the introduced constructs moderated the direct effects of rational and emotional factors. The contribution of the study lies in incorporating the underlying cognitive processes of decision-making. It presents two actio...

The present article proposes to design a model that provides a generic architecture which acts autonomously in public works contracting selection processes, in order to generate an automated decision criterion in the event of a tie. For the Simplified Tender selection process, in case of a tie, it is proposed to choose the bidder by means of an electronic lottery based on a controlled randomization system of encryption and transformation. For the Public Bidding selection process, in the event of a tie, the bidder is chosen by means of a predicted compliance index according to the behavior of the companies when executing similar infrastructure projects. To this end, a model that predicts the probability of success or failure of the bidder to execute a project before initiating it is generated, using artificial neural networks as an analysis tool. This paper reviews the common characterist...

In this work, it is necessary to analyze the increase of Back Order in the attention of crossdocking orders in the attention of Homecenter customers due to the lack of definition of purchase planning processes, resulting in logistics costs, fill rate charges and low service level. Thus, it is intended the companies that handle high volumes of inventory and constant orders should have a forecast plan to cover possible stock-outs. The main purpose of the research is to explain a way to prevent stock-outs using an artificial intelligence model, based on historical sales data of a medium-sized company that manages inventories, as well as to determine the machine earning model to predict and reduce backorders. For the data analysis, the Orange software was used, where the data was trained with different artificial intelligence models such as Decision Tree, Support Vector Machine, Random Fores...

The article develops the objectives of characterizing the vocational reelection process of a group of ten students from private universities in Metropolitan Lima (Peru) and analyzing their subjective position throughout it. The qualitative research approach with phenomenological design was used and the data collection technique was the semi-structured interview. It was found that the vocational reelection process is composed of three stages: the election, the crisis and the vocational reelection. Likewise, during their first and second vocational choice, the young people assumed a different and opposite subjective position towards social and family demands. This change in subjective position was driven by the vocational crisis, and by the search and analysis of the consequent information.
