The purpose of this research paper it is to present a new approach in the framework of a biased roulette wheel. It is used the approach of a quantitative trading strategy, commonly used in quantitative nance, in order to assess the pro tability of the strategy in the short term. The tools of backtesting and walk-forward optimization were used to achieve such task. The data has been generated from a real European roulette wheel from an on-line casino based in Riga, Latvia. It has been recorded 10,980 spins1 and sent to the computer through a voice-to-text software for further numerical analysis in R. It has been observed that the probabilities of occurrence of the numbers at the roulette wheel follows an Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process. Moreover, it is shown that a at betting system against Kelly Criterion was more pro table in the short term.

This work focused on proposing a plan for improvement and control of the customer service process in a customer service center, based on a waiting line analysis where it describes all the elements that interact in the system and a statistical analysis of processes to define the state in which it operates. Subsequently, the simulation of processes is applied to represent the system studied, and with it, to be able to evaluate different strategies for improvement and increase in productivity. It shows an exercise whose objective is to get the students or participants to design the strategy they will follow during a negotiation process, taking into account the basic principles of a price negotiation. It simulates a typical negotiation between a buyer and a seller, each of whom has information that the other does not know. Each party must negotiate the price at which it will be willing to enter into the transaction. A second objective is to record the evolution of the negotiation process in order to measure the strength and sequence of the arguments, as well as the style of the negotiation. To this end, the instructor's guide suggests that the participant should define his strategy, prepare the arguments with which he will support it and define his negotiation style.

In this study, the learning processes of the concepts of the probability topic are based on the use and simulation of the micro world tools by the learning actors, who demonstrated creativity, selection of the objects visible in the interface, and the introduction of basic programming principles associated with the topic in question. Learning communication skills is central in medical education. Clinical simulation provides conditions to foster comprehensive teaching and learning processes, although it is necessary to understand student acceptance as a way to evaluate and improve the strategy. The objective of this study was to analyze the perception of medical students after introducing clinical simulation sessions to optimize the teaching and learning processes of communication skills. The methodology used consisted of qualitative research whose data collection was carried out through an experiment with interactive Physics Educational Technology (PhET) simulators. La presente investigación tiene como objetivo optimizar el proceso de compras CAPEX en una empresa minera polimetálica de gran envergadura, evaluando los problemas y cuellos de botella presentes en dicho proceso. La metodología presentada se centra en la recolección exhaustiva de datos cuantitativos y cualitativos, así como en la implementación de estrategias basadas en metodologías Lean como Just in Time y Muda. We designed a questionnaire that aims to understand what happens to the identity of the teacher as a guiding element of its educative practice in response to the educational reforms –which have generated a constant change in what is expected from their role. The questionnaire was applied to 228 academics from different disciplines in a state public University with an educational model based on competencies. The data were processed by factor analysis and Cronbach’s Alpha. The results were consistent with the hypothesized factor structure, obtaining an acceptable percentage of variance (43%), which explains four factors of identity strategies: resistant-diffuse, attributed, simulated and assumed. The instrumentreported an adequate level of internal consistency (.94). Therefore, the questionnaire has both construct validity and internal consistency.

A framework for pricing Asian power options is developed when the underlying asset follows a jumpfraction process. The partial differential equation (PDE) in the fractional environment with jump is constructed for such option using general Itô’s lemma and self-financing dynamic strategy. With the boundary condition, an analytic formula for the option with geometric average starting at any time before maturity is derived by solving the PDE, and the option with arithmetic average is evaluated in Monte Carlo simulation using control variate technique with the help of the above analytic solution.
