This study evaluates the application of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Lean methodologies in the Peruvian agricultural sector, focusing on asparagus packing operations. To this end, it develops an innovative model with the objective of increasing the productivity of asparagus packing, one of the main problems of the Peruvian agricultural industry. Through the application of an autonomous and preventive maintenance strategy, it seeks to eliminate untimely stops in the asparagus processing line. Meanwhile, with the implementation of standardized work, the aim is to eliminate activities that do not add value and downtime. A pilot project was implemented with a sample of 72.98 kg of processed asparagus, using the processing times of each activity as input data for the validation model, using Kolmogorov- Smirnov and Chi-square statistical tests to define the distributions of the times...

Deforestation is one of the problems that is producing a significant impact on the environment in countries that have large extensions of forests such as Peru, caused by different factors such as paper consumption, whose increase in recent years has also generated an increase in the costs and times related to the management and transportation of physical documents. These physical processes were further affected due to the COVID-19 restrictions, having a significant negative impact on customer satisfaction due to some processes that required their presence at bank branches. According to recent research, 90% of financial institutions continue to maintain a traditional document management system that consists of printing, storing and consulting physical documents, due to the lack of culture and activities aimed at digitizing processes; however, this change is possible with a model oriented ...

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Peru present problems such as access to the national market due to limited capital or access to technology compared to large companies. However, they also lack an adequate definition and conceptualization of their processes, as well as a low level of business information transfer, which causes an absence in the measurement, control of processes and low operational performance. Given this situation, we propose the application and implementation of knowledge management tools in a company dedicated to the marketing and distribution of school supplies, which represents an SME in Peru. The tools used as the map of processes and flowcharts of the different processes were used to make the participants of the processes known. Through the realization of training, performance evaluations and internal audit, the learning of the operator is analyzed. As a...

The sales and operations planning process has to continually evolve before the new integration dimensions in the company supply and demand areas; for many years this concept has not been well understood in the companies. The inputs and outputs of this process should be clearly individualized and accepted as responsibilities of a determined business area. A new management architecture, corresponding to this scenario, is proposed and discussed in this document. A review of the computer support requirements for this process is undertaken. The required logic is also explained, highlighting the problems of corporate culture that arise in response to these changes and how they should be avoided. The common mistakes that companies make facing this need and the key success factors for an adequate deployment are also pointed out.

This research presents the benefits of using telemetry in the operations management of a high-production open-pit mine located in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Caterpillar’s telemetry systems called Vital Information Monitoring System (VIMS) were used to monitor trucks via input device signals (sensors and switches), providing action alert messages for the operator through a visor in the cockpit. The processes that will be subject to control are: fuel supply, load imbalance, access conditions, and temperature of the brake cooling system. An interface was developed with the IntelliMine (Modular Mining Systems) fleet management system for mining operations management. A system that identifies the type of problem was implemented, as well as the most efficient means for its resolution and localization in real time.

Restructuring means rewriting the source text in the target language. It is both a textual operation and a cognitive process that requires proficient transformational skills in the translator’s mother tongue. Any gap between competence and performance or partial access to linguistic knowledge: elocutive idiomatic, and expressive will cause problems during the restructuring process in Spanish. The present study aims to identify, describe, and explain the causes of restructuring problems in translation resulting from the translation student’s mother tongue.

Radioisotope techniques are highly useful tools to investigate variety of problems in oil & gas refining and petrochemical industry. Major techniques and applications are in routine service to industry of many countries. Gamma-ray scanning, often referred to as “column scanning”, is a convenient, cost effective, fast, efficient and non-intrusive technique to examine inner details of a process column or a reaction vessel, while it is in operation. Column scanning allows an engineer in petroleum refineries, gas processing installations and chemical plants, to study tray or packing hydraulics inside a distillation column at any set of on-line condition. It provides essential data to optimize the performance of columns, extend column run times, trackthe performance-deteriorating effects of fouling and solids deposition, and identify maintenance requirements well in advance of schedul...

In order to investigate the conception of the Andean people about gnoseological problems, conceived from these categories: possibility of knowledge, elements that intervene in knowledge, process of knowledge, telos of knowledge and conception of truth. An ethnographic-hermeneutical method was used in the town of Rosaspata, Ayacucho District, Huamanga Province, Peru. The key informants were the yachaq (people who preserve the knowledge of the original peoples) authorities and elderly residents. It was evidenced that Andean people conceive knowledge as a process that begins in the sensory phase with the rikuy (see), the uyary (listen), accompanied by the ruray (praxis). It passes to the second phase of rational operations such as yachay (knowing), musyay (intuiting), and hamutay (reflection), in which true knowledge (chiqap) is acquired, as a correspondence between the knowable objec...

The Business Alliance for Secure Commerce (BASC) management system is a strategy to strengthen the security and efficiency of companies in the logistics sector by preventing illegal activities such as smuggling and drug trafficking. The problem lies in the need to evaluate its impact on operational efficiency and security. Prior to its implementation, the company had deficiencies in traceability, regulatory compliance and security, and employees did not have a clear understanding of the impact of this system on these aspects. To assess this impact, a mixed methodology was used, combining a document review and a questionnaire structured in five key sections: general data, perception of safety, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and challenges and benefits of the system. The results indicate improvements in performance indicators: on-time deliveries increased from 88 % to 96 %,...
