In the last decade the multicore processors had emerged with the comeback of the symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) after a long decade in which the based OpenMPI clusters had dominated the high performace processing world. Actually, we have in the market 2, 4 and 6 multicore processors; the Cell BE processors with a Power Processor Element (PPE) and 8 vectorial processors called Synergistic Processor Element (SPE), and graphics processors which have from 48 to 448 cores dedicated to numerical tasks. In the present work, we show our experience in the interaction with these processors, discussing the programming techniques and the future possibilities for making low cost numerical tasks.

Parallel parking, in general, is a moderate difficulty maneuver. Moreover, for inexperienced drivers, it can be a stressful situation that can lead to errors such as stay far from the sidewalk or damage another vehicle resulting in traffic tickets that range from simple parking violation to crash-related violations. In this work, we propose a computationally effective approach to perform a collisionfree parallel parking. The method will calculate the minimum parking space needed and then the efficient path for the parallel parking. This method is computationally inexpensive in comparison with the current state of the art. Moreover, it could be used by any car because the parameters needed to perform all computations are taken from the specifications of real cars. Preliminary results of this work were summarized in [1] that was presented at the 15th International IEEE Conference on Intell...

This paper focuses on the study of eponyms in biomedical texts with a double objective: to obtain data on their presence in current texts and on the strategies used for their translation. For this purpose, a parallel corpus integrating three languages (English, Spanish, French) has been compiled and analyzed. The multigeneric nature of the textual samples that compose it (summary of product characteristics and package leaflets), its recent publication date (6 years ago) and the current socio-health issues that characterize the subdomain on which it is focused (orphan drugs) due to its link with rare diseases, make the corpus interesting and give it characteristics that are in line with the proposed objectives. After reviewing the most outstanding studies on the concept of eponymy, the corpus and the methodology used for its exploitation are presented. The results confirm that eponymy, de...

This paper studies the criminal liability of legal persons, which has suffered a deep reform with the organic law 1/2015, after being introduced in Spain in 2010. This reform has brought important modifications and news, as the creation of an exemption of liability through the adoption of compliance programs, which supposes a change in the so called model of transfer of liability, that existed before. Parallel to this transformation in the Spanish criminal code, in Peru recently the law 30424 has come into forth, which contents a corporate liability model, very similar to the one foreseen in Spain. Both models of liability and the possibility of its exemption raise doubts about if they really tried to penalize legal persons or not.

The purpose of the present study was to elaborate and apply a strategy based on the resolution of problems in the achievement of learning of parallel and perpendicular lines in geometrical figures in students of third grade of primary level, curricular area of mathematics. For the application of the strategy a learning session was elaborated in which the empirical modeling and systemic methods were applied. In the foundation we worked with the analytical - synthetic, inductive - deductive and comparative theoretical methods. The execution took into account the techniques of the exhibition, the team work, the collaborative work. In the evaluation, the techniques of hetero-evaluation, co-evaluation and self-evaluation were applied. After the conclusion of the session, it was concluded that the students achieved the learning of parallel and perpendicular lines in geometric figures.

The purpose of this article is to expand the taxonomy of the most frequent ethical misconducts currently found in scientific publications. We present examples of fraud in contrast to an ethical conduct in research and publications arising from research. Then, we show the taxonomy in different stages: before, during and after the publication. Before the publication, the following ethical misconducts were found: conflicts of interest not declared by the authors, undeserved or insufficient authorship, salami slicing, plagiarism, self-plagiarism, fabrication, manipulation or impossibility of data replication, and parallel submission of articles. During the process of publication: conflicts of interest in peer review, false peer reviewers, theft of the manuscript by peer reviewers, content mishandling and undeserved authorship following peer review. After the publication: alteration of the im...

The COVID-19 crisis has generated consequences in our social life and brought out problems especially in the economic aspect. The changes in the global economy were occurring one after another. The markets became more unpredictable, economic models were restructured and companies reinvented themselves. Small businesses with short-term growth were increasingly common to find; and in a certain number of cases, entrepreneurs have shown us that getting out of the status quo is necessary to find “success.” Entrepreneurship today is the protagonist of a boom that is worth documenting. Business Anthropology has much to record, analyze and apply in the near future about entrepreneurship and rapidly growing companies such as startups. This text is a field chronicle based on the anthropological work within a small startup during the period of March to August, 2020. It is based on the first wor...
