Algorithm k-means is useful for grouping operations; however, when is applied to large amounts of data, its computational cost is high. This research propose an optimization of k-means algorithm by using parallelization techniques and synchronization, which is applied to image segmentation. In the results obtained, the parallel k-means algorithm, improvement 50% to the algorithm sequential k-means.

This study presents the design exploration and kinematic validation of a transtibial prosthesis based on a 2SPU-RU parallel mechanism. The prototype is currently at Technology Readiness Level 3 (TRL 3), indicating an early-stage concept that has been evaluated under controlled conditions. The mechanism replicates dorsiflexion–plantarflexion, inversion–eversion, and abduction–adduction, corresponding to ankle motion in the sagittal, frontal, and transverse anatomic planes. The system integrates electric actuators and an ESP32 DevKit V1 microcontroller to control joint movements. This work describes an automated opto-fluidic system for parallel non-contact manipulation of microcomponents. The strong dynamics of laser-driven thermocapillary flows were used to drag microcomponents at high speeds. High-speed flows allowed to manipulate micro-objects in a parallel manner only using a single laser and a mirror scanner. An automated process was implemented using visual servoing with a high-speed camera in order to achieve accurately parallel manipulation. Automated manipulation of two glass beads of 30 up to 300 μm in diameter moving in parallel at speeds in the range of mm/s was demonstrated.

An assessment of part of a family planning program is presented in a social environment characterized by high fertility, low contraceptive use and knowledge and great interest in information and practice of family planning methods. Accidental pregnancy rates and subsequent expulsions are similar to those found in urban environments and sea level. By contrast, first expulsions rates are higher than those established for suburban and metropolitan populations sea level, so it could be considered an effect of biological, possibly related to altitude conditions. The research is based on the problems encountered in the production process of companies in the metalworking sector. The problem arises from the low availability of machines in the production process due to working conditions (39.5%), poor maintenance management (40.3%) and poor-quality control (20.2%) that generate low profitability for business. As a solution, Lean Manufacturing tools are implemented to improve the process and increase profitability. In the present work the generation process and the fundamental characteristics of_x000D_ the collective excitations, known as spin waves, in magneto-quantum particle sys tems, have been analyzed. From the Heisenberg hamiltonian, the fundamental sta te of the system where all the spins are completely aligned parallel to an external_x000D_ magnetic field was deduced. The spin-wave dispersion relation was calculated by_x000D_ applying the nearest-neighbor interaction approximation. The spontaneous magne tization and the specific heat of the Heisenberg ferromagnet at low temperatures_x000D_ were determined. Style transfer is a natural language processing generation task, it consists of substituting one given writing style for another one. In this work, we seek to perform informal-to-formal style transfers in the English language by using a style transfer model that takes advantage of the GPT-2. This process is shown in our web interface where the user input a informal message by text or voice. Our target audience are students and professionals in the need to improve the quality of their work by formalizing their texts.
