Peru is a mega-diverse country in terms of its ecology, it also has a great mineralogical diversity that allows a significant increase to the mining sector and this in turn can lead to conflicts in communities and cities, whose residents are apparently threatened, because according to his conception, the mining will destroy all the flora and fauna, and it will pollute rivers and water sources. All this thought in most cases does not allow the development of mining and therefore of the country. We depart from the paradigm that only environmental education will change the mindset of the peruvian inhabitant lives in the area of influence of mine and this must be executed by universities and professionals who know the environment in the mining sector, this teaching would be responsible and well conceived, will be able to transform the perception and attitudes of the residents, opposed to min...

The general goal of this research is to address the way in which the twenty-five first Spanish publishers in literature publication manage their social networks. For this, through the PRGS model, the weight of the main social networks (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) in the digital marketing strategy of these Spanish publishing companies is analysed from a triple dimension: a) the attraction of users, b) content generation, and c) users' engagement to the brand. The study conducted on these twenty-five Spanish publishers concludes that Facebook is the one that generates the most fans, compared to Twitter and Instagram. This text aims to reflect on the protagonist participation of older adults and their close relationship with the professional performance of Social Work. Peru’s demographic reality is constantly changing; a progressive demographic phenomenon is developing: population ageing. At the same time, there are still stereotypes that typecast older adults into a passive person role. Faced with this scenario, they since their protagonist participation, and, through their organizations fighting for their rights, have laid the groundwork for contribute to build an inclusive society, that dignify them as subjects of rights and within the framework of the protagonist paradigm. In the face of this reality, Social Work accompanies values and contributes to the active and decisive participation of this population, making visible their needs, demands and contributions, to fight with them for an inclusiv...

The paradigm shift in media and social communications is forcing us to rethinking the role and responsibility of the user. Studies on consumer ethics are relatively recent and have shown little interest in the ethical decision-making processes of media users and consumers. In the side of media ethics, the attention paid to consumers and users of the media has also been scarce. The aim of this article is to identify principles and criteria that may serve as guidelines for a media users’ ethics adapted to the current times and technologies. The reflection starts with a review of the academic literature and the principles, values and norms that can be traced in the documents of the Catholic Social Teaching (CST) on media ethics.

The novel El camino de regreso (2007) focuses upon the complex nature of Peru’s social structure, where norms and laws operate differently, according to social class, race and origin. The conflictive relationship between the main characters serves as a metaphor for fratricide among fellow countrymen. The armed internal conflict shakes the nation but does not affect all its citizens in the same way. Through fully realized and complex characters, the novel strongly criticizes the structures that made possible the military conflict, but also announces changing times and disruption of the status quo. This essay proposes that what we see in the novel is a change in the social paradigm in which the working classes have been marginalized historically and the ruling classes have traditionally displayed irresponsibility and injustice. El camino de regreso offers a version of a new paradigm that...

The essay advocates for a critical reassessment of the concepts of the right to the city, spatial justice, and the just city within the current urban planning paradigm. It emphasizes the interplay between theoretical frameworks and the foundations for social action grounded in spatiality, identifying key challenges in operationalizing the concept of a just city, such as the ambiguity of the term, the complexity of multiscalar governance, and the necessity to define common objectives. The essay stresses the importance of establishing a robust and sustainable science-policy interface to progress toward a just city. Furthermore, it highlights the need to transcend isolated planning actions to critically examine the underlying ideological and epistemological foundations, as well as the power structures that perpetuate inequalities and injustices —particularly in Latin America. This include...

This document describes the inclusion of the montuvio people in Ecuador, through democracy. It can be explained by its ethnic complexity and cultural self-recognition as a minority that has diversified its ethnic map, legitimating itself in the law of rights of the montuvia ethnic group by the Ecuadorian State. In this way, it succeeds in inserting itself into public national planning and, the need for a critical analysis to understand its historical participation. In recent studies, it is established that since the 1990s the Montuvio people have been significantly visible. With the creation of several state institutions, "the first recognition made in 2001 by the Ecuadorian state of the presence of montuvios in the political and social scenario of Ecuador, with the creation of the Council of Development of the Montubio People of the Ecuadorian Coast and Subtropical Zones of the Coastal ...

This article discusses an important challenge for Internet governance: the difficulties entailed in articulating the multiplicity of scenarios and contexts that shape it. A “multistakeholder” approach has been posited often as the most suitable path to build Internet governance. However, materializing this approach is difficult because of the possible actors and situations found on the Web. Instead, and building on the notion of cosmopolitanism (Boczkowski & Siles, 2014), this article proposes an alternative framework for studying Internet policymaking. It applies this framework to the Digital Privacy and Security Statement advanced by the Global Commission on Internet Governance in order to show how it can help further our understanding of Human Rights in the digital era. It argues that cosmopolitanism can offer a method that helps to transform a complex network of interactions ...

Epidemiology has been an essential interpretative tool to understand the collective health of society, especially in the case of infectious diseases, but its diagnostic role in public health is permanently subjected to diametrically opposed reasoning, epidemiological practices, and social demands. It provides the equipment to evaluate the quality of life of the population and its success depends on its economic and political providers, paradigms and applied research models, many of them merely the result of the free will and autonomous decisions of its specialists, academics or not academics. The purpose of this research was to describe the current situation of Latin American scientific production in the period 2010 to 2020 in relation to formative research on epidemiology. The bibliometric study is based on the descriptive-retrospective analysis of contributions collected in Scopus inde...
