Tiene como objetivo general determinar como la gestión del riesgo se relaciona con la prevención de los desastres naturales en el Perú, 2017-2018. La población estuvo conformada por 140 profesionales del área de Gestión de Riesgos del Centro Nacional de Estimación, Prevención y Reducción del Riesgo de Desastres (CENEPRED) en Lima Metropolitana, con una muestra de 103 profesionales. El nivel de estudio es correlacional, dado que se medirá la relación entre dos variables, con diseño no experimental y método cuantitativo, se aplicó el coeficiente de alfa de Crombach para determinar el grado de confiabilidad. Perú es un país megadiverso en cuanto a su ecología, también tiene una gran diversidad mineralógica que permite un desarrollo considerable al sector minero y este a la vez puede generar conflictos en las comunidades y ciudades, cuyos pobladores se ven aparentemente amenazados, porque, según su concepción, la minería destruirá toda la flora y fauna; además, contaminará los ríos y fuentes de agua. Todo este pensamiento, en la mayoría de casos, no permite el desarrollo de la minería y por ende del país. Partimos del paradigma que sólo la educación ambiental cambiará la mentalidad del poblador peruano que habita en la zona de influencia de las minas y ésta debe ser ejecutada por universidades y profesionales que conocen el medio ambiente en el sector minero.
