Valdivia City suffered a transformation after its refoundation in 1647 as a walled city. During the XVII and the XVIII century a process of consecutive improvement for the walls or fences was pursuit. All this was a product of the climatic and geographic situations, as well as military engineering requirements. In this process two Turrets were built by the same quarter of the XVIII. Its origin was justified by the need of strengthening two points considered as strategic and vulnerable in the city. Moreover, population protection was not the only purpose, but also to consolidate the progress to other zones, which by that time were under mapuche-huilliche domain. During the second decade of the XX, both turrets were declared as Historical Monument. These are two postcards which identify the city, but they lack the meaning and sense by which they were built.

This project was carried out under the financing of the "VI Competition of financing for research projects Private University of Tacna (UPT)". In this project, tests have been carried out on the piles and the death of masonry, which were built using the masonry unit to block II of the Martorell brickyard. With the results of the essays and the compilation of other essays carried out by our university students, the values of f'm and v'm have been determined. The base of all the studies has been elaborated a proposal of formula of the minimum density of the walls, which allows us to calculate the minimum length of the walls that is needed in a masonry building built with load-bearing walls of the blocker II so that it can resist a severe earthquake.

The objective of this article is to analyze the complex problem of border walls. Specifically, it introduces a legal lens to the issue in order to determine whether these border walls could affect the exercise of individual human rights. Non engineering dwellings represents 83% of the stock of housing in emerging areas of Lima city. These dwellings are build with non-appropriated masonry bricks with walls that limits don´t meet the displacement control of the earthquake design standards NTE-030 and NTE-070. The high seismic activity on the Peruvian coast carries a potential risk of tsunamis that could affect the Peruvian coast, causing damage to people and structures. According to studies carried out by CISMID and Fondecyt, approximately 83% of the houses in Metropolitan Lima and Callao are made of masonry, mainly due to its low economic cost. The present experimental study aims to study the behavior of confined masonry walls under the action of perpendicular loads to the wall produced by the impact of tsunami waves, which is a field of research where it is still necessary to delve deeper with experimental studies of the structures under equivalent tsunami loads. Design: Retrospective, longitudinal, series of cases study. Setting: Hospital Nacional Cayetano Heredia, Lima, Peru. Participants: Patients operated for anterior vaginal wall prolapse. The study aimed to install a green wall in order to carry out a comparative analysis of the levels of noise reduction, as well as to evaluate the environmental perception; the study was carried out in the city of Tacna in the facilities of the educational institution Verdad y Vida - Veritas et Vita. For the construction of the green wall, the Aptenia cordifolia that was installed outside the educational center was used. In order to noise reduction monitoring, two monitoring points were located; one in the direction of the noise source and the other behind the green wall where the noise is directed. In this note, some bacterial pathologies with the capacity to injure the hepatopancreas of farmed marine shrimp are cited, as well as details of some of the monitoring techniques used for their study, emphasizing the fresh analysis. This technique is widely used in shrimp farms due to its low cost, minimum response time, short training time and practicality. The issue of the so-called «double wall» reported with some frequency by some analysts is addressed, presenting arguments to understand the possible origin of this artifact, and the impossibility of the formation of multiple walls in the tubules is supported with information. For this, the normal structure of the tubular epithelium of these animals is described, both in normal stages, as well as under pathological conditions.

In this study, we investigated the correlation and development of a linear regression model between the variables "added cement" and "compressive strength of rammed earth walls" constructed with aggregates obtained from Colpa Alta, Huánuco, Peru through bivariate analysis and multivariate data analysis. This analysis was motivated by the increasing difficulty for the local population to build confined masonry housing due to the increase in the prices of building materials brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
