Based on the concepts of decision support system (DSS), a framework is presented for IT portfolio selection, which could be adaptable in different degrees to the needs of the different stakeholders of the company. This framework provides a flexible, expandable and interactive DSS to select IT projects for portfolio management A case is showed to demonstrate the practical application of the proposed approach.

During the last decade, the failure to meet public works execution deadlines has been a frequent matter. Particularly among the electricity sector, private companies have loosened established project execution deadlines by resorting to force majeure as a justification for obtaining an extended deadline. However, have these granted extensions really been justified in events of force majeure?.In this article, the author explains the regimes under which electric concessions are granted to further detail the regulation established electric project deadlines and the consequences of its non-compliance. Subsequently, the author reviews the regulation and doctrine on force majeure and lastly, acutely analyzes its use as justification in the deadline extensions granted in recent years.

In this work, we propose the nonmonotone projected spectral gradient method to solve the problem of minimizing compliance of a static structure, classic problem in topology optimization. The present method has proof of global convergence and is easy to implement. The performance of the proposed method is studied through numerical examples in two dimensions.

The biblical story of the Tower of Babel, in addition to teaching us the importance of communication, can teach us how important it is to establish certain basic rules when sharing a space with other people. These basic rules can be seen embodied, contemporarily, in the rules of condominiums.In the article, the authors explore the nature of these regulations, their basic contents and the functions they perform. Mainly, the bylaws serve to reduce transaction costs between the parties involved, so that they can reach agreements that allow coexistence in a scenario of own and common property.

In the canned fish production program, it is very important to calculate its forecast through statistical models that minimize the error of the projections and that allow estimating the quantities to be produced. The objective of this research work is to select a forecast model for the consumption of canned fish in Peru for an industrial fishing project using time series models. Project evaluation must consider both investment costs and completion times, both of which are subject to uncertainty. This article presents an approach to explicitly incorporate the uncertainty in the duration of activities necessary to complete a project. The PERT and CPM methods, widely adopted in industry and government since the 1950s, help manage the interdependence of project activities. Although originally differentiated by their handling of time and cost, these methods share the limitation of not adequately considering uncertainty. This article reflects the learning process carried out within the framework of an environmental education and educational intervention project, using the Project Work Methodology (MTP), conducted in the context of preschool education in Portugal. Following a qualitative paradigm, the study aims to analyze how children develop skills through the MTP. The approach respected children’s individual needs, fostering critical and creative thinking. The educational intentions constructed during the intervention led to the promotion of different types of learning among the children. The recorded evidence reveals benefits in their holistic development, confirming the formative potential of the project methodology.
