On this occasion, the amount of agricultural waste was estimated, to be used as raw material in a biorefinery. The country Ecuador was taken as a case study, as it is a country with great activity of this type. A time series for annual agricultural production was constructed using the ARIMA model through RStudio software. For the main crops, the number of residues generated was estimated and after that, an analysis of vector networks was carried out through the GRASS GIS software. The results indicated that the main apparent source of waste is the banana, from which leaves, peel, rachis, and stem would be obtained, useful in the production of bioproducts. Using the GIS, it was determined that the largest number of crops are found in two regions of the country, with distances greater than 500 meters from the road network. The characteristics of Ecuador make possible the future installatio...

Objective: The objective of this study was to demonstrate whether a gel formulation developed with collagen extracted from fish scales is stable, functional, and safe for cosmetic applications. Material and Methods: A gel formulation derived from fish scales was developed, and physicochemical parameters (pH, viscosity, protein, lipid, carbohydrate, ash, and moisture content) were analyzed following AOAC (Association of Official Analytical Chemists) methods. Additionally, microbiological aspects (mesophilic bacteria, coliforms, molds, yeasts, and Salmonella spp.) were evaluated, and a sensory test was conducted with consumers. Results: The results showed a pH of 6.8 and a viscosity of 150 cP, which are suitable for stability. Protein content was 25%, carbohydrates reached 60.2%, and lipids were 5.5%. No Salmonella spp. was detected, and other microbiological parameters remained within per...

Small-scale fishing, such as that of the Tahuayo river basin (CRT) has been little studied despite its importance as a protein supply for the region. This article presents the fisheries' main ecological features in the CRT based on of an analysis of fish landings. Between August 2016 and July 2017, the richness and composition of species, biomass and catches per unit of effort (CPUE) were evaluated, by hydrological periods, aquatic environments and communities. The captures presented 62 species, grouped into 23 families and 7 orders, with the Pimelodidae family being the most diverse (12 species). Species richness was very similar between hydrological periods and between aquatic environments. The total landing amounted to 13,805.38 kg, where 17 species represented 80.5% of the biomass. More than 50% of the biomass was landed in periods of...

The present study has two objectives. On the one hand, the psychometric properties of the Wagnild and Young (1993) Resilience Scale are analyzed, and on the other hand, the values obtained were compared according to sex and age of the participants. The sample were 333 university students from a private university in Arequipa (Peru), of which approximately half were men and the other half women, with an average age of 17 years. The results of confirmatory factor analysis suggest a four-factor structure: Interest, Energy and strength, Purpose identity and Decision, with adequate goodness of fit indices. However, for the dimensions of Decision and Energy and strength, internal consistency had inadequate values. Comparative data indicate that women and 18-year-old students have higher scores on some resilience factors than men and 16-year-old students. Results suggest the need for extendi...

The creation of a Virtual Lab, integrated and interactive software, to perform histogram-based binarization of gray scaled images is reported. In an attempt to optimize the binarization the developed virtual lab introduces a Heuristic Binarization Threshold. At processing time, the module extracts the histogram of the input gray scaled image, and then a Heuristic Threshold is calculated by taking the weighted average of the foreground grey levels of the image. Next those pixels in input image whose grey levels are above this threshold are highlighted. Although still not experimentally optimum, this heuristic threshold provides a first approximation towards automatic optimum binarization of grey scaled images. For comparison purposes when an input image is operated on by the binarization module, it is possible to visualize up to three different binarizations on screen simultaneously, each...

Considering that there are no instruments to measure resilience specifically designed for peruvian teachers of elementary and secondary public schools, this study aimed to build an ad hoc instrument based on the theoretical foundations expressed by Henderson and Milstein (2003). We did this based on data from 710 public school teachers, both male and female of Callao region (Peru). The results show that 71 items concentrated around four factors: 1) significant participation, 2) prosocial behavior, 3) self-esteem and learning, and 4) perception of support. The cronbach’s alpha coefficient is of .957, which shows that the resilience scale is highly reliable. The scale has been validated by 10 expert judges.

Punitivism can be defined as the collective preference for punitive measures and increased control over criminals. Understanding punitivism from a psychological perspective involves examining how individuals make decisions based on their beliefs, experiences, and emotions. The punitivism scale developed by Roberts et al. (2011) comprises seven items in a five-point Likert format, designed to assess individuals’ support for harsher punishments for criminal behavior. However, this construct has received limited attention in psychology, and no validated scale has yet been applied in the Argentine context. This study aims to adapt and validate the Roberts et al. punitivism scale for use in Argentina. A pilot study was conducted with a sample of 401 individuals, and an exploratory factor analysis was carried out. A subsequent final study involved a different sample of 458 participants, in w...

Introduction: A systemic instrument is presented to measure the socioemotional network in relation to the partner and the person's perception of the impact of this intimate network on his or her partner for his or her classification. It is based on the idea that a nurtured social network brings positive benefits to one's nuclear partner. In order to verify this assumption both in research and in clinical practice, it is necessary to construct a complex instrument that allows reaching different dimensions within and outside the couple. Objective: The study seeks the construction and validation of the Multidimensional Couple scale to measure seven dimensions in the couple: emotional, cognitive, physical interest, protection, trust, respect and power, as well as an additional dimension to classify the type of couple. Method: An Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and ...

The investigation report presents/displays the process of construction of an instrument of measurement for the study of the organization like reality socially constructed, concretely the phases to identify, to isolate and to discriminate the indicators of the phenomenon that we have denominated organizational representation. The boundary of the potential indicators has been made using technical qualitative (documentary analysis, diagram of affinity, agreement interjudges -conceptual). The potential indicators belong to anyone of the seven following dimensions: organizational context, structure, processes, climate, culture, satisfaction, effectiveness. The isolation and discrimination of the indicators selected between the potentials have been made using technical quantitative statistics (descriptive analyses, multidimensional scaling, factorial analysis and reliability indices). 49 indic...
