Taking into account the Spirit of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH) founded in the commitment to excellence, integrity, human formation and community outreach, since 2011 we have been working on the development of the profile of the entrant to UPCH, not only regarding the conversational skills, also in social skills, skills to manage their emotions, skills to take care of their life and activities as the process of realizing the strategies that can be used to relate to different types of people. The training program for the personal admission interview is based on the integration of the contributions of Humanistic Psychology, the Gestalt approach, Logotherapy and Neurolinguistic Programming

The objective of this study is to determine the influence of socio-ecological relationships on the risk of pluvial flooding in the urban area of Puquio district. For this, the socio-ecological characterization of the local system was first carried out, which includes the identification and assessment of its relationships, then the risk of pluvial flooding was calculated through the hierarchical analysis process (Saaty, 1980), and finally, Spearman's correlation coefficient was used to analyze the correlation between the variables. The results establish that there is a moderate negative correlation of -0.554 between the variables, which indicates that in the areas of greatest economic growth and social development, neighborhoods of Ccayao and Pichccachuri, a moderate level of risk predominates, while in the areas of less development, neighborhoods of Chaupi and Ccollana, a high risk level...

Landslides, triggered by heavy rains, constitute globally impactful natural disasters that wreak havoc on both people and infrastructure. It is crucial to develop predictive systems and efficient alerts, incorporating technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) to gather environmental data and prevent significant losses. Therefore, the aim of the study was to design and develop an early warning system for landslides using a microcontroller-based wireless sensor network. A digital rocker rain gauge and the MPU 6050, DHT22 and FC-28 sensors were employed. These sensors were distributed at nodes along the Quebrada del Diablo in the city of Tacna. This research presents the social dynamics of the existing black population that inhabited inside and outside the city of San Miguel de Piura, in a context of the political crisis of the viceregal domination. We reviewed several judicial processes located in the Regional Archive of Piura, about the intensity of the rains and floods, the cycles of dry years, and their destructive impacts on the fields of cultivation and grazing, belonging to the Haciendas and farmland. We examine the social resistance of a population that survived on rivers banks from the coast and the highlands of Piura, turned into farmers or settlers, to produce grains and meats for the supply of Piura’s city. We analyze the conformation of Marronage and Palenques in the carob and sapote mountains surrounding the city and within large landowner’s estates. The goal of the present paper ís the evaluation of a physical-mathematical technique to estímate the rain rate in the Peruvian north coast during days of extreme rainfall the period considered in this work in april 2002. For this purpose infrared GOES-8 satellíte images have been used. The results show that the used technique produces a good representation of the diurna!varíability of rain; however a seríous deficiency exísts in the daily rain rate estimation. The orography conditions and rapid rain formation during an atmospheric process similar to EL NIÑO one would explaín the cause of the opposing results.

The objective of this work has been to analyze and simulate the interactions of atmospheric and hydrological processes using the WRF Model (Weather Research and Forecasting) in Peru for the year 2014. SENAMHI records precipitation data through a meteorological network found distributed in almost all the Peruvian territory. Due to precipitation has a high spatial variability and to the scarcity of rain gauges, the use of TRMM images was used to estimate precipitation and the WRF atmospheric model to analyze the interactions of atmospheric and hydrological processes during different periods and considering the cumulus parameterizations (Kain-Fritsch scheme, KF) and microphysics (Thompson scheme). This research aims at providing an analysis of the possibilities of reforestation to prevent river overflow. It studies La Leche River, in the stretch or low course located in the Íllimo district, Lambayeque region (Peru). In addition, it provides preliminary information on the conservation status of forest species in the seasonally dry forest, and the threat of flooding due to river overflows, which occurs each year due to heavy rain. In this context, information was collected and processed to identify forest species in the study area and to then select those that -due to their anatomical structure- have more water absorption capacity, in order to mitigate adverse effects that come up when the river overflows.

La presente tesis tiene como finalidad aplicar el software de modelamiento hidráulico Hec-Ras para modelar la transformación precipitación – escorrentía en la cuenca de la Quebrada San Carlos haciendo uso de sus nuevas herramientas presentes desde la versión 5.0 en adelante, convirtiendo al Hec-Ras en un software para la investigación.
