The research was conducted in order to determine the impact of education program on the knowledge and practices of solid waste management of the cleaning staff of reference Hospitals of the Puno-Peru. The study was pre experimental with pre and post test design. The sample was 44 workers determined by inclusion and exclusion criteria. The instrument used to evaluate their knowledge base was a questionnaire. As to the practices, a compliance checklist about handling solid waste by the Ministry of Health was used. The post test was applied 30 days after the application of the educational program. Data analysis was performed on a percentage basis and the testing of the hypothesis test with the Wilcoxon. The results of the training program were the following: the level of knowledge increased in conditioning from deficient (97.73%) to good (63.64%); segregation / primary storage and intermedi...

We carry out a pedagogical intervention in the development of the creative thinking skills of fifth-cycle students in the university population. The research was applied, quasi-experimental. We propose to reinforce and influence moral values such as students' self-esteem and confidence; in order to highlight his creative abilities in four audiovisual productions divided into two television magazine programs and two short films aimed at social responsibility. We formed a sample of 44 students from a total population of 1281 from a private university in Lima. We structured the experiment by a control group and an experimental group with an amount of 22 students each and divided into groups of 5 or 6 work teams to develop the Torrance Creative Thought Questionnaire (TTCT). This investigation has been made considering a quantitative focus with a non-experimental design and a transverse section in a descriptive level which statistical analysis is univariate. The main objective is to understand the level of empowerment of women in a state of vulnerability that lives in the shanty towns in the district of Chorrillos. These may or may not participant in social programs. The tool that was used to make the evaluation on the women is the Instrumento para la Medición del Empoderamiento de Mujeres (known in Spanish as IMEM). The article is aimed at researching the possibility of introducing the qualifications upgrade courses for teachers-philologists offering them individual practice-oriented development trajectories based on their level of ambition and evaluation of their performance by independent experts. In our research, we relied on the system-activity approach enriched with the personality-oriented approach to the training of language and literature teachers. Methodologically the research was supported by various theoretical and empirical methods including pedagogical observation, analysis, synthesis and abstracting. This paper provides substantiation for introduction in the design practice of qualifications upgrade courses of a modular principle assuming the right of teachers to choose the course content. In the conclusion, it is shown that the qualifications upgrade course consists of a set of practi...

This investigation is the result of the observation of failures in the development of the capacities programmed in the didactic units (DU) of the Mechanics for Repair shops and Suspension and Steering System subjects from Car Mechanics Career at "Enrique López Albujar" Technological Institute. As teachers from this institution, it was not possible to leave out that problematic situation which led us to investigate and help to solve the problem. With this purpose, a curricular program for each of the DU was designed, having as a support for its development, the teaching scientific method; which was exposed to experts’ opinion at the beginning and then it was applied to students and the results were collected. This was an important feature that satisfied students, researchers and the whole institution. The implementation and further evaluation pointed positive and satisfactory results b...

The admission of poor students sponsored by the Beca 18 social program into Lima universities is a recent phenomenon that requires studies on their adjustment and academic performance. This research targeted Beca 18 students at USIL and compared their responses to a questionnaire on perceptions of classroom climate with those from regular students. Both were participating in the course on math analysis offered to engineering students. In the general context of positive perceptions of classroom climate, Beca 18 students slightly differed from regular students, showing more positive perceptions of professor’s behavior in terms of creation of a working environment, class pace, interest in the student, and promotion of cooperation and group work. A greater difference was observed in regard of the avoidance of a climate of competition, which should be studied in greater depth. On the other ...

This article discusses the various meanings attributed to the concept of research methodology, based on an analysis of the study plans and programs of three doctoral programs in education in Mexico. These programs have well-established faculty and have produced several generations of trained students. The article outlines the methodology used to analyze the curricular discourse related to the concept of research methodology, and presents findings that highlight the different interpretations given to key elements of this concept across the three programs. The results reveal nine major attributions of meaning to the concept of research methodology, with varying degrees of similarity across the three programs. One shared conception is that research methodology is primarily a logic of knowledge generation, rather than a set of techniques. Additionally, all three programs acknowledge that res...

Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical and economic burden associated with varicella in Peru. Methods: This was a multicenter, retrospective chart review study of patients aged 1-14 years with a varicella diagnosis between 2011 and 2016. Healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) associated with varicella, unit costs, and work loss were used to estimate direct and indirect costs, presented in USD ($). The cost and HCRU data was combined with estimates of varicella disease burden to estimate the overall annual costs of management of varicella in Peru. Results: A total of 179 children with varicella (101 outpatients, 78 inpatients) were included. Among outpatients, 5.9% experienced ≥1 complication, compared with 96.2% of inpatients. HCRU estimates included use of over-the-counter (OTC) medications (72.3% vs. 89.7% of outpatient an...

This research work seeks to analyze from a criminological view the compliance as a crime prevention  tool  within  the  legal  entities.  In order to do so, it is necessary to use modern criminological theories of greater scientific importance, in order to understand the raison d’être of compliance within a company, and ensure its best use as a state criminological policy. Likewise, a historical account of its genesis at the international level and of its incorporation in the  Peruvian  legal  system is made.

CMMI has increased the productivity and reduced the cost of software development in the software industry. However, there are factors that influence the adoption and retention of CMMI in software organizations, and that need to be studied over time. This article aims to identify factors that influence the adoption and retention of CMMI in the software development organizations. A systematic literature review (SLR) was performed for this study. In the first stage, 2507 articles were obtained from 6 relevant databases and after the SLR process, 40 studies on factors and their possible influence were selected. These factor studies were classified according to a taxonomy based on: organization, people, processes and product. The most studied factors are related to people and organizations, in the CMMI adoption and retention processes, which is consistent with the fact that it is the "people"...
