Some universities in Peru, including the University of the Altiplano of Puno Peru do not necessarily make visible and visible their research, which in some cases became part of the heritage collection without knowing its validity or academic and scientific contribution. This editorial intends to highlight its publications in which to make the last six years of the magazine of the High Andean Research Magazine related to Scientific and Technological Research. The approach systematizes and values the weaknesses and strengths of the scientific visibility of its publications. The results achieved, among others, such as indexing in SciElo Peru, critically show their weaknesses while tending to strengthen their strengths to continue improving the visibility achieved and to continue advancing in the light of the scientific production produced in the other scientific journals of greater impact, ...

It is evident the environmental crisis and consequently the global climate crisis in the current convergence, caused by the crisis of civilization, which privileges the exploitation of natural resources based on the economic, ecological and cultural model that favors more power groups or the so-called dominant societies linked to the excessive consumption of the lifestyles of developed countries and their agents. Its consequences, are adverse to the point of its real collapse, induces an obvious danger not only for human health, but also for the health of the same nature, which covers the current civilization. It is possible that everyone is responsible, one more than others, is a matter of debate. Within this perspective, in the last issue of the year (2019) of the Journal of High Andean Research (RIA) we find it convenient to include (replicate) manifest of "11,000 scientists who warn ...

The Andean region has always fascinated travelers and scholars who are interested in biodiversity. Monumental works have been written on mineral resources, flora and fauna. And efforts are being made to protect the richness of biodiversity, especially in protected natural areas. But the threats from the advance of extractive activities and the consequences of climate change are becoming more and more shocking and are avoiding the achievement of sustainable development. For this reason, the production of knowledge and its spread in quality scientific journals is an urgent need, based on data from reality itself and its resources, in light of the scientific literature produced. In this scenario, the Highlands Research Journal wishes to invite everyone to contribute with their proposals to face the challenge of environmental degradation, the exploitation of natural resources, the effects of...

The quantification of production/service costs to determine the market price is fundamental in offering the maximum value of satisfaction. Therefore, management accounting is essential. One of the alternative tools is activity-based costing, known as ABC system, an alternative method to overcome the limitations of traditional indirect cost systems, which somehow distort the actual accounting of costs. Will exploring its development, applicability, challenges and benefits still be a possible option? This study aimed at reviewing the scientific literature produced on the activity-based costing system in recent years, identifying trends of adoption and challegnes of implementation in various manufacturing and service firms. High impact journals indexed in PubMed, Web of Science (WoS), Scopus, among others, were analyzed. The results show an increase of publications on the implementation of ...

The purpose of this editorial is to present a brief reflection on my work as the editor-in-chief of the Revista de Investigaciones Altoandinas - Journal of High Andean Research, which I have directed for nearly 10 years. With gratitude, I try to highlight the achievements and bring to light the weaknesses and what is still pending. This is in line with the ethical code of scientific publications developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). From now on a new editor-in-chief and editorial board is to direct the future development of the journal.
