This study aims to know how the training processes of practicing teachers contribute to the construction of beliefs about teaching at the university. Froma qualitative methodology with agrounded theory approach, professors from public and private universities were selected through theoretical sampling. In-depth interviews were conducted to collect data whichwere analytically coded. Among the results it was found that the teachers' beliefs come frominstitutional training of a normative typewhich emphasizes a functional teaching in didactic techniques, use of technology and innovation, excluding training in knowledge of the discipline they teach. Thus,it was also found that teachers carry out self-training processes on a personal initiativefor updating scientific knowledgeand develop their practices teaching with strategies that they themselves use to learn, because they believe in their o...

The present article cover the latent preoccupation in the last years about the ethical formation of the teacher in relation to the “crisis of values” in which we live in. The topic will be approached giving a general view of what is and what isn’t the ethical formation of the university professor. In this sense, it tries to analyze in which ways the concepts of ethics and citizenship are installed in the professor’s speech, but do not manage to manifest themselves effectively in the schools. We will analyze the concept of ethical formation as a process of collective construction, which demands the preparation and exercise of critical reflection, just like the taking of decisions about moral situations that regulate the coexistence between the actors in the educational process (students, professors, administrative personnel, etc.) We will reflect on the role of the profess...

In the learning society, one of the challenges for teachers in training is the need to define and develop a set of professional skills in their initial training, essential for their subsequent entry into the labor market. In this work, the aim was to delve into the employability skills developed by students in the Primary Education undergraduate study program, their relevance for their process of socio-labor insertion, as well as their global perception to face it. An inter-university study was carried out with a total of 210 students in their final year at Universidad de Murcia and Universidade da Coruña, both Spanish. The collection of information was carried out on the basis of the previously validated Labor Counseling and Insertion Questionnaire. The results showed few differences between the assessments of the students of both universities, which coincide in pointing out to a great...

This research was carried out with the objective of analyzing the relationship between the evaluation of the university professor and the satisfaction of recognition needs. It is a non-experimental inductive study, of a descriptive and correlational type of mixed approach. The sample consisted of a total of 28 professors from the English area of the main campus of a Private University of Lima, in the 2018- II cycle, using a probabilistic sampling for convenience. The questionnaire was conducted as an instrument and the survey as a technique. The system used by the university shows evidence of relating positively to the recognition needs of the university teacher; the study has contributed with the verification of processes and tools applied to the evaluation and the impact on the collaborator specifically in their satisfaction of needs, oriented to generate an added value for the educati...

This study analyzes the psychometric structure of the CAPE- R scale, which assesses the beliefs about the educational process in rural teachers; explores the teacher´s profile, and analyzes the significant differences between the beliefs according to sociodemographic variables. The sample included 150 rural teachers from Mendoza, Argentina. The exploratory factor analysis yielded a factorial structure made up of four factors that explained a 44.19% of the variance of responses to the test. Internal consistency coefficients ranged from .74 to .85. The data show a predominance of difficulties in the educational process dimension (M=2.83; DE=.69), the only dimension that reached a significant association with the educational level of the classes (F =4.77, p<.05).

The didactic book represents one of the main working tools for the teacher throughout the teaching and learning process. However, in view of the growing number of researches on this material, it is observed that there are a series of problems that involve not only aspects related to its content, but also to how it is being received in the institutions. The main objective of this article is to highlight some questions that surround textbooks for teaching a foreign language (FL) from bibliographical research on works that have been based on the analysis of FL textbooks. In addition, this article discusses the role of the teacher before adopting it. The points of view of Coracini (2021) and Taset (2015) contribute to clarify some points on this topic. It is recognized the importance of the teacher's training to be able to adapt the didactic book according to its context of use and to know t...
