The exponential growth of the elderly population nowadays demands to take a closer look at the diet and eating behavior of this age group, as a way of improving their health and quality of life, which is influenced, among other factors, by their place of residence. This article delves into the diet of older adults according to their place of residence: long-term nursing homes or other type of residential facility. The eating behavior of institutionalized elderly people is featured by eating at least three scheduled meals with menus showing inappropriate nutritional benefits, which do not adequately cover the nutritional requirements of the aged user and, along with other factors, favor malnutrition caused by dietary deficiency. The article examines the relationship between sex work and different urban experiences in a crowded area of downtown Lima. This is an abridged and adapted version of a research report prepared for the Urban Anthropology course at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Based on the information gathered from urban methodology such as “floating observation” and secondarily from unstructured interviews, it seeks to describe and analyze the role of sex workers in the urban scenario of Alfonso Ugarte Avenue. The main hypothesis suggests that sex workers are protagonists of this space, since their presence determines and alters behaviors and beliefs of different actors. To this end, two main findings are presented: starting from the concept of “non-place” to understand the trajectories that sex workers and other agents establish in the area, in a sort of implicitly agreed urban...

Among the multiple impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in Peru, the exodus of thousands of citizens stands out. During the first months of social confinement in 2020, they returned from Lima to their places of origin due to the impossibility of coping with quarantine measures without employment or support networks. This article reflects on this social phenomenon’s ethical and theological implications, interpreting the reversal of internal migration trends in Peru as a locus to understand the systemic violence of the current political-economic system, to recognize the practices of survival and creative solidarity of their victims, and to problematize pending debts and colonial legacies. The experience of these victims-survivors is a place from which to imagine an alternativeethical-political horizon for a Bicentennial Peru and a theological discourse...

The disparity in the number of women and men working in STEM fields is a widespread issue among researchers around the world; however, given its complexity, there are always elements to be reflected on and problematized. With this in mind, this paper presents a study that aimed to analyze, based on the precepts of Pêcheux’s discourse analysis, Brazilian Instagram profiles about women in technology, based on a survey carried out by the ELLAS network. A total of 63 profiles were found, and of these, 18 individual profiles were chosen for analysis, in which it was possible to verify the focus on teaching how to enter and progress in this area.

We analyzed national identity in Psychology students from a national university and a private university. The CAS Inventory (Cognitive, Affective and Social) for National Identity by Salgado (2010) was used. It is a psychometrically evaluated instrument for validity and reliability, which was applied to a sample of 200 psychology students (UCV = 100 and UNFV = 100) who were randomly selected in a simple probabilistic way. The results, in total averages and CAS areas, showed highly significant differences (p < 0,01) between both groups. They were favorable for UNFV students, although they showed only slightly favorable (21.5%) levels. Also, in terms of origin, there are significant differences (p < 0,01), showing higher favorable values in students from provincial. According to religion, values denote similarity with no significant differences.
