The study analyzes the effects of the control of constitutionality and conventionality in the Argentine system, in light of the international systems for the protection of human rights and the legal instruments to which the Argentine State is a signatory. These systems do not have derogatory effects on domestic norms, but the inapplicability of these to the specific case and the possibility of providing for actions or omissions; that is, orders to do or not to do with respect to a specific situation in order to safeguard the principle of constitutional and conventional supremacy, so that the subjective right enshrined in these hierarchically superior norms prevails. In this perspective, the aforementioned systems of rights are of mandatory and preferential application to any domestic legislation of lower rank. In other words, it is not only the text of the covenants, conventions and trea...

In Peru there are great gender and intercultural gaps, particularly in the health sector. These gaps lead to discrimination, maternal and infant deaths, and mistreatment and dehumanization of medical attention. To improve the quality of healthcare, the SISTEC Program used workshops in gender and interculturality as its methodology, organizing 44 in 5 regions and training 837 healthcare professionals. Capitalizing this experience, a variety of factors to improve the results of these workshops stood out, such as the selection of participants, cultural adaptation and the methodology used. The workshops led to socio-cultural changes in both work and personal spheres, but their sustainability depends strongly on the institutionalization strategies used. In conclusion, trainings can be a useful methodology to drive sustainable appropriation of gender and intercultural perspectives, provided th...

There is an infinite range of cultures, peoples, tribes, cultural areas, ethnicities and ethnicities, and this anthropological reality has raised humanity, since the beginning of time, the problem of accepting ourselves as different. A cultural area is a spatial entity within which societies show some similarity or a number of common significant aspects. American anthropology has therefore tried to establish a kind of "maps" on the distribution of traits, groups of traits or cultural complexes in order to determine the centers of cultural diffusion and its route (Cf. Wissler C., 1926; Kroeber H.L., 1939).

Data on violence against women in Spain are unbearable for an advanced democratic state, which allows inferring that there is a social/sexual reality prior to the social coexistence pact that is discriminatory for women and threatens their fundamental rights. This reality of preexisting subordination to the norms of social coexistencehas been based (and sustained) on the asymmetry of socio/sexual power that pivots in the sex/gender system. Hence the need to provide the “gender” category with constitutional relevance.

For the development of an egalitarian society, the gender perspective is not only a concern of theory and political debate, but it has also been incorporated into our legislation and public policies. The identification of various gender gaps, disclosed by situations of inequality between men and women in various extents of human development, constitutes an unfortunate reality. The State has demonstrated concern regarding this situation and consequently has created a state policy on gender equality. The state has established a regulatory framework for the progressive achievement of equality between men and women. In several areas of the state, the application of gender perspective is now mandatory. Although this is significant, there is another regulatory framework in addition to the official one that efficiently governs the lives of people. We refer to the customary law, which is gestate...

Since the beginning, science activity has been conceived as a male-gender occupation. Despite the efforts to bring women into scientific research communities, there is still much to be done. In view of the foregoing, a study was conducted with the aim to identify, with a gender-based approach, the types of teaching and learning styles at the technological institutes in the state of Veracruz, Mexico. For that purpose, an instrument with closed-ended and multiple-choice items was applied to assess the teaching models used by teachers of those institutes. This exploratory, descriptive and ex post facto study covered 9 institutes and 396 students (55.8% men and 44.2% women) who were participating in a research project. Results showed that teachers, regardless of their gender, prioritize experiential learning through discovery, following the premises of meaningful learning and constructivism,...

Gender violence affects one in three women in the world, it is a social problem that requires comprehensive responses to address it. In the legal sphere, judicial decisions can contribute to providing, through the application of a gender perspective and humanist legal dogmatic interpretation, full access to justice for victims and survivors of violence. In the cases in which they become defendants, a gender-sensitive look is required in the criminal process, especially in terms of assessing the requirements of self-defense and the assessment of the evidence. The research proposes to reflect from the analysis of doctrinal criteria and jurisprudence on the subject.

The persistence of subordinated and unequal gender relations affects women preventing them from fully enjoying their substantive right to equality. The gender- neutral language of laws can exacerbate challenges women face for their rights to be acknowledged. For that reason, gender mainstreaming constitutes an effective tool which enables adjudicators to better assess the facts and evidence of a gender-related case and thus construe laws in such a way as to adjust the structural imbalance between men and women. In recent years, courts have resorted more frequently to this tool to adjudicate cases. . However, it is still in an early face as regards the division of marital assets. For that purpose, this papers reviews, as an example, some Argentine judgments in which this approach helped restore the property rights of women.

The purpose of this paper is to develop some ideas on the state of the situation of the application of the gender perspective theory in the resolution of cases in the courts of justice of the province of Corrientes, Argentina. For this purpose, it is essential to deploy the theoretical framework under which this analysis will be made, which includes the issue of equality, as well as the constitutional view in relation to structural inequalities of social groups, which will lead to notice economic inequalities in the forms of human organization. Then, we will interpret what is understood by feminism, to reach the topic of what is judging from a gender perspective.

Jealousy permeates affective relationships, becoming a subjective, relational and sociocultural phenomenon. Intersectional readings of emotionalities revealed how jealousy interpellates gendrized...

Women's health, particularly, sexual and reproductive health, and development are here approached from a gender and human rights perspective, underlying the need to address these problems from a relational and comprehensive point of view. The issue of how sexual and reproductive health is approached and the "men's as partners" strategy is discussed. Adult women-centered, female-only family planning reproduction and contraception are criticized. Gender violence eradication is stressed as an entry to sexual and reproductive health programs. The case of Peruvian urban and rural women in poverty from Amazonian and Andean communities is taken as an example. Obstacles and achievements in working with men are reviewed but a gender transversal perspective is highlighted. Finally, women's sexual and reproductive health is related to development and seen as a standpoint for addressing hea...

In this article, we will evaluate the problem of silence and its possible link with a gender perspective, as we consider the existence of a type of silence, present in the poetics of Varela, who provides a critique of the patriarchal society. To do this, we will introduce some general lines of the book of poems Canto villano (Villain singing); to finally make a rethorical analysis of the poem "Va Eva” (“Eva Goes”) and demonstrate our initial hypothesis.
