In this article, the author analyzes the situation of unpaid domestic work and care work taking into consideration the results of the time use surveys carried out in the countries of the Andean Subregion and their contribution to GDP. Time use studies provide valuable information on how people allocate their time for paid and unpaid work, showing that there is an unequal distribution between women and men. Women work longer hours than men in Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and Colombia, where data is available, regardless of their condition. On the other hand, it allows us to verify the importance of domestic work and unpaid care work in social reproduction.

This article analyzes four policies from the environmental sector and three from the agricultural sector connected to gender equality. Both entities converge in their impact on people’s livelihoods, especially those depending directly on natural resources for their subsistence. Comprende y analiza el proceso de implementación de la transversalización del enfoque de género (TEG) en dos entidades del nivel nacional: Ministerio del Ambiente (MINAM) y Ministerio de Agricultura (MINAGRI). Es de tipo cualitativo basado en el análisis y revisión documental, y también recoge las opiniones de servidoras y servidores de ambas entidades sobre su comprensión del enfoque de género y los avances y desafíos que perciben para implementar la estrategia.
