In recent years, the discussion regarding the publication of arbitral awards has been developing with several arguments being made for and against this type of measures. Multiple arbitration centers have adopted regulations about the subject in their latest rules. However, we still cannot determine which route commercial arbitration will follow when in regards to this matter. In the following article, the authors evidence the multifaceted character of the discussion about the publication of arbitral awards in commercial arbitration. First, they present the regulations that the ten most relevant arbitration centers have adopted in regards to this subject. Then, they explain the characteristics of default rules and the consequences these can have depending on whether they are opt-in or opt-out. Finally, they explore the arguments in favor and in opposition to the publication of arbitral aw...

Starting off the critics to the general ideas about legal persons, especially in relation of his colective character, the article does a study about the rol of the Sole Proprietorship in the modern economic activity and the transformation of this entity. This is done by considering the needs and interests of the businessman, being that the option for one-person companies, or with many partners, is merely conjuctural. The social utility of the legal entity takes precedence over static considerations regarding the supposed “nature” of the institution.

This article raises questions about the relevance for the early grades of schooling models of reading instruction emerged from research on phonological awareness. Several studies have suggested the existence of different levels involved in reading. However, these levels are not seen in the early grades teaching practice guided by the models discussed here. Rather, these models point to an almost exclusive lexical learning of language, leaving aside the semantic construction processes that take place when reading. Phonological awareness is indeed vital for the acquisition of writing, however, to understand what is read not only requires understanding the words of the text read, but mainly to build the meaning of the text as read the sentences and paragraphs. From the line of work that began Emilia Ferreiro, the article states that children in the early grades themselves are able to perfor...

In our times, metaphysics has become a study of dubious nature to such an extent that it has been tried to be eliminated from philosophy. But what are we talking about when we refer to metaphysics? What it has been like and what it is for having experienced such a strange destiny? In the following, three theses will be discussed: the first, metaphysics is its problems; the second, metaphysics is its history; and the third, metaphysics is its possibilities.

The present investigation was oriented to explore the links between negative stereotypes about aging, fears about old age, satisfaction with life and certain sociodemographic characteristics. For this purpose, a cross-sectional quantitative empirical study of descriptive-correlational scope was designed. A sample of 314 Spaniards was formed (74% women, Medad = 38 years), selected according to a sampling by availability. The participants answered a selection of instruments to measure the constructs under study. On the collected data, descriptive and correlational analyzes were carried out. The results show that there are no differences in any of the variables studied according to sex, but there are greater negative stereotypes among those who live with older adults. Age is negatively associated with both stereotypes and fears and satisfaction with life. Finally, negative stereotypes about...

This paper discusses the different perspectives that exist in psychoanalysis about the status of the countertransference in the therapeutic process. On the one hand, for those who follow the classical tendency this should be radically repressed to protect the ideal of an aseptic neutrality. On the other hand, for those who follow the humanistic tendency, this should be incorporated to consolidate the externa! and real aspects of the therapeutic alliance. Together with the classical work uf Theodor Reik and the modero work of Harold Searles, the author proposes that countertransference feelings and reactions could be used as legitime tools to monitor both the relationship with the patient, as well as the interpretation phase.

The objective of this article is to review the validity of modern myths related to the Amazon and analyze their impact on public policies linked to the conservation of the Amazon. Based on a specialized bibliographic review, an inventory of modern myths related to the Amazon is made and then a classification is made for an analytical approach. Subsequently, a synthetic approach is made. Taking into account these results, it is discussed how these myths permeate public policies, the thinking and actions of forestry professionals and others involved with forests. As conclusions, it has been possible to recognize that there are still myths related to the Amazon regarding the indigenous people, the forests and the relations between the Amazon and Society. These modern myths are intertwined in time and can be transformed. The myths can be conceived as a system in which interrelations between ...

The article analyzes the reforms in copper mining in Peru, highlighting the importance of the exploitation of unused resources, the reversion of concessions to private companies and state participation in mining exploitation, as well as the participation of workers in the sector. In this regard, the author questions the effectiveness of the reforms and their actual implementation, due to the persistence of economic dependence, the continued presence of foreign companies in copper exploitation and the mediating or regressive translation of political objectives into concrete implementation measures. In this framework, the need for a renegotiation with imperialism in order to maximize national benefits and the redefinition of the national economy is suggested. The author highlights the persistence of certain nationalist values that may not be contributing effectively to the maximization of ...

Throughout this article, the author will seek to prove that the concept of universality —which serves as a basis for the universal criminalization of particular acts— is nothing more than a fiction that does not respond to the noblest of reasons. He will build his analysis on the basis of the narratives of humanity and its atrocity, then analyze the concept of universality as a generally accepted attribute in international law and examine the discussion that exists with respect to natural law and positivism. Finally, it will provide a constructive critique of the concept, establishing the logic, strengths and inconsistencies behind the humanity and atrocity narratives of universality in international criminal law.

Truth is a theme of central importance in the works of Justin Martyr. It is a recurring issue       and a lot of insistence; basis for many key conclusions and statements of his apologetic project and for the context in which they were written. The bibliography usually identifies the truth in the author from the religious and Christian nuance, forgetting that his text can contribute to the discussion about the truth from different themes. In this work, reflections on the truth, its communication, its problems and its implications will be developed, from Justin’s ideas and vision on this topic.

This article develops the notion of relationship described by Aristotle in his Órganon, in order to establish a cognitive foundation for audiovisual fiction. The discussion is framed in the context of a certain contention about the concept of reference, brought into question by theoretical approaches such as structuralism, semiotics, the field of cultural studies, and narratology. Concurrently, the application of the notion of relationship to the audiovisual object implies the creation of a dialogue between four of the essential works of Aristotle (Poetics, Nichomachean Ethics, Organ and Rhetoric), emphasizing the dramatic nature of audiovisual fiction over its narrative quality, while underscoring the concepts of need and verisimilitude as the main traits of its logical dimension. Through this study, the Aristotelian concept of&nbs...
