En este artículo propongo el concepto de caballero de frontera para definir el prototipo heroico que surge de la conversión de dos géneros narrativos: el space-western y la fantasía épica o heroica. Este concepto se aporta tras la re-visitación del héroe de frontera en la serie The Mandalorian (Disney+, 2019-2020), de acuerdo con algunos rasgos propios del concepto medieval de caballero andante. El arquetipo del héroe de frontera  se adscribe al subgénero de space-western, donde recibe su condición de outlaw; sin embargo, gracias a los elementos de fantasía épica que hereda de su pertenencia al universo de Star Wars, el héroe sufre una transformación paulatina en el desenvolvimiento de su misión que lo acerca al caballero andante. This article develops the notion of relationship described by Aristotle in his Órganon, in order to establish a cognitive foundation for audiovisual fiction. The discussion is framed in the context of a certain contention about the concept of reference, brought into question by theoretical approaches such as structuralism, semiotics, the field of cultural studies, and narratology. Concurrently, the application of the notion of relationship to the audiovisual object implies the creation of a dialogue between four of the essential works of Aristotle (Poetics, Nichomachean Ethics, Organ and Rhetoric), emphasizing the dramatic nature of audiovisual fiction over its narrative quality, while underscoring the concepts of need and verisimilitude as the main traits of its logical dimension. Music is an element that appears systematically as part of the rhetorical strategy of audiovisual narratives and is, to that extent, a constitutive part of them. Since audiovisual narratives, especially fictional ones, can be considered as poetic works in the Aristotelian sense, it is worth asking about the role that music plays in this poetic condition. In this research article, a theoretical proposal along these lines is put forward that will serve both to explain the role of music in the work of fiction and to analyze it.
