The Peruvian construction sector, especially its SMEs, faces critical inefficiencies in supply chain management, particularly in procurement processes. Past research has shown that these inefficiencies lead to significant cost overruns and delays. This study addressed these challenges by implementing a procurement model integrating Lean Construction, Kaizen, and Just-In-Time (JIT). The main challenges identified were excess material purchases (20.12% of cost overruns) and late deliveries (25.84% of operations). The model reduced late deliveries from 25.84% to 8.95% and purchasing errors from 8.49% to 3.33%, confirming its effectiveness. The research has substantial academic and socio-economic implications for Peruvian SMEs, providing a solution that enhances efficiency and reduces operational costs. Further research should explore broader applications of this model and strategies to prom...

The article presents the results about processes related to project management, with the aim of proposing a methodology based on Lean Construction and the fundamentals of the PMBOK Guide; that allows to improve the productivity of construction projects. The methodology obtained from integrating the Last Planner Planning scenario, the planning process group, as well as the PMI scenario monitoring and control process group (Fundamentals of the PMBOK Guide); will optimize the factors that affect the planning and monitoring and control of construction projects by improving their productivity; reflected in the improvement of the quality, time and cost of the project. The optimization of the Sub-profile profiling process without material input generated great results (outputs) such as the reduction of the time (execution period) from 98 days to 68 days and the reduction of the cost of S/. 255,...

In this study the work of induction of microbial carbonate genesis was carried out in order to obtain an improvement in the consolidation of the materials used in construction such as mortars and paving stones, in order to confer them greater resistance and conservation. As a result of the tests carried out, it was found that the inclusion of a bacterial biomass culture formed by bacteria of the genus Bacillus sp., in the formulation of the mortar and paving stones, helped to increase the resistance to compression with Fc values. 266.3 kg/cm2 higher compared to the control of Fc 261.0 kg/cm2. Also, the state of aggregation of the particles improved remarkably, we observed that in the fragmentation tests the structures showed a geometrically more homogeneous grid, compared with the cobbles of the control test. Regarding the texture and roughness aspects, it was proved that the paving ston...

The objective of this research was to deepen the understanding of ethnomathematics developed by masons in the Amazonian regions of Peru. To this end, the mathematical concepts implicit in the masons' practices were identified and analyzed, as well as to understand the role of culture and the natural environment in the configuration of this knowledge. The type of study was considered ethnographic, and consisted of gathering information through observation. A questionnaire was applied, with the purpose of evidencing the procedures carried out by the masons in the resolution of labor calculations using the fundamental operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) of ethnomathematical origin. In the same way, scientific articles were reviewed. One of the key findings of this research is the integration of mathematical concepts in the labor practice of masons. It was observe...

Arbitration is the mechanism most widely used worldwide in resolving construction disputes. Nonetheless, arbitration faces challenges related to its costs and length. This phenomenon has caused the study and the proposal of several recommendations in construction arbitration, which embodies the best practices in the mitigation of the inefficiencies under analysis. Given that two of the main causes of the inefficiencies in international construction arbitration proceedings are direct or indirectly related to the arbitrator’s role, it is argued that an arbitrator’s proactive leadership and a fearless attitude toward the so-called due process paranoia might have a significant impact in increasing efficiency, which finally will benefit both arbitration users and arbitrators. Several measures have been recommended and implemented at international level in this regard. Those measures could...

Our location in the world makes us a country with a high seismic risk. Taking into account that the information produced during a seismic event is of vital importance for the study carried out by seismology, it is necessary to use the appropriate type of instrumentation to record these data. Currently, electronics provides the necessary technology for the study of phenomena of this type. The design and construction of a Digital Accelerograph will allow us to carry out a detailed study of a seismic movement and the effect caused on the structure of buildings. Finally, we can say that the construction of an instrument of this type at a low cost will allow repowering and increasing the CISMID accelerographic network and, in general, improve the knowledge of seismic phenomena at the national level.

One of the factors that determine the productivity inside a company is the state of the machinery with which is counted for the production. Our objective was to design a system that allows the engineers to supervise and to evaluate the state of the machinery, so that this in sot only repaired when it doesn't work, but rather one has the possibility to take a periodic registration of the operation of the same one. With it, it'll be possible to identify the flaws of the machinery in their diverse evolutionary phases. This will allow to carry out an appropriate correction of the problem diminishing the maintenance cost and, therefore, to stop the machinery for a smaller period of time. The system that we have designed in compound for a card of acquisition that will allow to capture and to transfer the mechanical vibrations of the machinery toward analysis software that allows the engineers ...

The construct validity of six hypothesized dimensions was explored for an Accountancy majorgraduation examination, in order to understand the underlying process of responding. Using answers from 313 examinees to an intentional sample of 17 objective items administered on large scale, a confirmatory factorial analysis was carried out, with a Multi-Trait Multi-Method matrix (MTMM): Traits represented three cognitive operations required to solve the items and the methods represented three knowledge fields of the content. Each item was linked to a cog- nitive operation and to a knowledge field. The resulting model showed convergent validity in two constructs and its manifest variables and divergent only between technical and combined knowledge. Thus, the answering process was explained, simultaneously by the Understanding operation influenced by Theoretical knowledge. Implications to...

Mining activities are associated with the influence of external and internal factors. Companies have no control over external factors, such as the supply and demand of metals; however, internal factors, such as the optimization and management of their processes, are the responsibility of their managers and supervisors. Costs are the result of continuous improvement, process management, occupational safety management, environmental care, and social relations. In this context, it is necessary to have an adequate cost model. This research aims to show the construction of a new model for cost management in an underground mine that facilitates monitoring, control, and decision making in daily operations, called "MOGECOMS". One of the reports generated from the model is by 'cost center'. It presents the budget for December, the execution for December and the deviation for December, where the d...

The present article describes the process of construction of a Family Integration Inventory which contents 52 items distributed in a Likert scale, and has optimum criteria of validity and reliability (α = .739). We obtain a KMO value of .922 which admits the factorization of the instrument As result of the factorial analysis applied in two moments we finally have a unidimensional inventory. Moreover, we settle the percentiles in three levels of family integration: high, medium and low.

In recent years, in Latin America, reference has been frequently made to “collaborative” contracts. However, there is no common understanding of what this term means and the relevant international discussion and development. This article seeks to establish the framework of the discussion on alternatives available to increase productivity in the construction industry and how this has led to seeing the contract as a useful tool to promote said process.

The article examines the power that the Criminal Procedure Code gives the National Police to inform the media about the identity of the accused; and analyzes if this faculty affects the right to the presumption of innocence enshrined in the Political Constitution of the State and the Code of Criminal Procedure, in order to demonstrate that, in this aspect, the guarantee of a democratic criminal system is null and has serious negative effects in the person, in terms of labeling and stigmatization for the construction of the enemy.

For some authors accounting is considered as a social practice whose scope is the economic context with impact on organizations. The case study is a methodology that can link theory with practice and generate a source of knowledge to construct theories and an accounting doctrine.Accounting is applied with greater intensity in management: business, governmental, environmental, financial, among others; they all have experienced significant casuistry that deserve to be disseminated among students and / or accounting professionals and related sciences. The purpose is to relate accounting research with professional practice. The lack of linking theory with the daily happenings of the organizations in general and accounting practice in particular, makes the theorization about accounting without paying attention to empirical research, which is sometimes criticized and questioned, but it is impor...

The aim of this paper is to analyze the film Black Swan (2011), directed by Darren Aronofsky, in order to understand the identity construction of a subject crossed by multiple violence: Nina, the ballet dancer. For this purpose, the analysis will focus on the relationship of the following concepts: the processes of recognition, the dynamics of power and violence, and the experience of motherhood. It is concluded that Nina’s character suffers a double violence. The first one is linked to a patriarchal scheme of structural violence towards women and the feminine and the second one is related to an intimate and symbolic violence: the fusion and lack of recognition of her as a human being separated from her mother.
