The research problem centers on the urgent need to improve workplace safety conditions. The objective was to determine the relationship between behavior-based safety (BBS) and accident rates in the construction sites of a building company located in Lima. A quantitative approach with a non-experimental, correlational design was employed for this purpose. The sample consisted of five construction sites between 2021 and 2022. The main finding revealed a strong negative correlation between BBS and accident rates, evidenced by a correlation coefficient of −0.918. This suggests that greater BBS implementation is associated with a lower accident rate. A p-value of 0.028 confirmed the statistical significance of this relationship. In conclusion, the findings highlight the effectiveness of BBS programs in reducing occupational accidents in the construction sector.

It shows an inventory of the main challenges that NGOs are facing in the field of communication, the inrernarional scenario factors which generate them and the route this organization followed to meet them. The designed program, advances and lessons learned in the way, and also the considerations that must be taken to follow similar processes are described in detail.

This research aimed to implement a Peace Education Project (PEP) in a first-grade classroom of a primary school located in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico. The intervention promoted a set of prosocial competencies in students, teachers and families; for this universal and focused strategies were developed. A mixed approach was used, with evaluations before and after. Information was collected through participatory action-research. Some findings indicate that systematic PEPs in the classroom decrease violence and strengthen prosociability. There was a reduction in the school violence index from 1.12 to 1.10 and an increase in student prosociability from 3.34 to 3.70. The strategies favorably affected the maintenance of a school climate of cordiality, greater empathy, assertiveness, better management of emotions and an increase in friendship networks.

Arbitration is the mechanism most widely used worldwide in resolving construction disputes. Nonetheless, arbitration faces challenges related to its costs and length. This phenomenon has caused the study and the proposal of several recommendations in construction arbitration, which embodies the best practices in the mitigation of the inefficiencies under analysis. The Peruvian construction sector, especially its SMEs, faces critical inefficiencies in supply chain management, particularly in procurement processes. Past research has shown that these inefficiencies lead to significant cost overruns and delays. This study addressed these challenges by implementing a procurement model integrating Lean Construction, Kaizen, and Just-In-Time (JIT). The main challenges identified were excess material purchases (20.12% of cost overruns) and late deliveries (25.84% of operations). The model reduced late deliveries from 25.84% to 8.95% and purchasing errors from 8.49% to 3.33%, confirming its effectiveness. This article describes the construction and validation of the “Scale of Social Problems in Chile”. The scale was developed considering the main social issues at a national and municipal level. The instrument was validated using quantitative methodology, with a non-experimental cross-sectional design. The participants were 456 residents of the Valparaíso municipality, Chile. Cases were selected using quota sampling to reflect the demographic composition of the region in terms of the sex and age groups found in the municipality. Exploratory factor analysis was conducted using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) V24.0, while confirmatory factor analysis was performed with R console and the Rcmdr interface. These analyses made it possible to establish that the factor structure of the scale differentiates national problems from local ones.

Essentially, the loss suffered by the global construction industry during the time when the COVID-19 is spread is not caused by that pandemic itself but caused by a changed circumstance which mainly resulted by anti-COVID-19 policy or law conducted by different jurisdictions. Where contract keeps silent in this regard, legal solution should be made by contemplating the law in different jurisdictions toward changed circumstances, which commonly includes situations where performance of contract become more onerous or impossible, and taking account of the factual environment which determines or impacts the changed circumstance. This paper, from a comparative law perspective, discusses and concludes the doctrine of changed circumstance in some typical jurisdictions, and, by taking consideration of law and fact, provides some approaches and potential legal solutions to deal with that loss.

Using data from 1361 students we validate the Meta Evaluador Web where: a) the bank of Study and Self-Regulation Strategies used 50 items calibrated for confirmatory factor analysis. The results of their banks (Cognitive Strategies; Person and Self-Regulation Task and Materials) showed higher rates to 0.90 and RMSEA less than 0.07, with Cronbach alpha’s > 0.83. The fit between the theoretical and empirical models validated their constructs; b) the Personal Epistemology bank, used 12 item calibrated and its adjustment index confirms construct validity (0.90, RMSEA = 0.07) and c) Reading Comprehension bank used 18 calibrated items with convergent validity (CFI = 0.96; RMSEA = 0.03), all of them, with an acceptable homogeneity.
