En la actualidad, en Perú muy pocos son los gobiernos locales que cuentan con un sistema informático móvil/web para la sociedad civil, quizás por razones como costo, tiempo y recursos no logran implementar tan importantes servicios móviles ahora que casi todo ser humano a muy temprana edad ya cuenta con un dispositivo móvil. Several academic studies have confirmed that young university students are using social media to get information about what is happening with their communities. This article explores what are the levels of consumption of traditional media, as well as digital media of young Mexican students from different regions of this country. The research was carried out in the context of the presidential elections of 2018. More than 1200 questionnaires were applied on line. The main objective of the research is to understand both traditional and digital media consumption and how these factors affect the political participation of this group of the population, inside and outside the internet. Among the main results expected to find a growing trend in the use of digital media to the detriment of the traditional, as well as a close relationship between political participation and media consumption.

This research evaluates the communication that the 60 accredited universities in Ecuador develop on their websites. The objective is to determine the importance they attach to interactive communication and to analyze whether there is association with institutional factors, with the position in world rankings and with the website traffic. Content analysis was used and a Web Communication Index –WCI– was created to identify the presence of communication management and the adoption of interactive channels in the portals; the Similar Web tool was also used. The media in Mexico have played a fundamental role in the social construction of the migratory reality and, in this regard, it was suggested that, on the issue of migrant caravans, some of them have performed thorough and rigorous coverage as a result of journalistic research, while others have not. The focus of this work is mixed and its scope is descriptive. Ten media outlets were analyzed, specifically 1,048 journalistic texts on the issue of migrant caravans, from October 2018 to February 2019. Quality indicators were used to analysis in the journalistic coverage and the results showed that certain media have a greater attachment to these indicators, while others tend to present a neutral-negative assessment.

The rise of the digital age has presented a significant challenge for social science research methods to adapt. Among the numerous theoretical and methodological approaches under discussion, this article examine the current situation of studies that use digital ethnography as an approach in Ibero-America. From a bibliometric method the objective is to analyze publications indexed in renowned global and regional databases, such as Scopus, Latindex and Web of Science. The purpose is to identify the approaches, influential figures and conceptual frameworks predominant in this area today. In a context where digital media increases the proliferation of information, this research addresses media literacy as a possible solution to fake news. This article analyzes the relationship that fourth-year high school students from a school in Lima have with the media they interact with, in order to evaluate the degree of development of their media literacy. To do this, the CRAAP test was applied, which allows us to know the criteria they take into account when distinguishing a fake news story from a true one based on levels of currency, relevance, authorship, accuracy, and purpose of the text. As a result, the students evaluated false and true information very similarly, leading to the conclusion that they do not possess an adequate level of media literacy. This study investigates the perception of young Spaniards about online sports betting and its advertising. The initiative arises from the recent regulation of commercial communications in this sector in Spain. We reviewed the literature related to the phenomenon and the foundations that gave rise to the regulations. Starting from discussion groups with young people between the ages of 15 and 21, we use advertisements as an impulse to learn about beliefs and perceptions about sports betting, the regulations in force and their advertising. There is a certain lack of concern in the group with the influence of advertising and the health risks of possible addictive behaviors. Studies of this type, we believe, could serve as a reference for future regulatory frameworks in the Latin American region, a territory in which this industry is in full expansion.

Argentinean online media have followed international trends in their digital trajectory and they have taken on the constant changes in the media ecosystem by innovating with the production of multimedia and interactive formats designed for the Internet, as well as technological initiatives such as virtual reality. Communication research in times of epidemics and pandemics is an important factor in prevention, treatment and recovery. The study presented analyzes the behavior of communication research about epidemics and pandemics through the scientific production registered in the Scopus database. Indicators are used to assess general publication trends at the country, institutional, author, journal and article level. The prevailing themes and their evolution over time are examined, as well as the evolution in the groups and associated research fronts. This research explores the use of Facebook as a corporate communications channel of Peruvian universities. The study aims to find out which communication elements generate the greatest interaction. To this end, content analysis is carried out, which allows to detect communicative actions, formats, themes and emotional links that lead to greater participation of audiences in this social network. This methodology is complemented by a qualitative analysis of the most relevant posts. Results show that content valued most by the public seeks to educate and inspire with the results of research and scientific innovation and through audiovisual formats, appealing to a sense of pride of the community.

Virtual social networks have had a notable impact on our lives, and over the years it has led to the creation of new virtual socialization platforms such as Instagram, which in our context has taken great interest, especially in adults young people, occupying a large part of their personal, academic, work and social space, often leading to problematic behaviors such as addiction.
