Este trabajo evalúa la tecnología de comunicación Wi-SUN FAN, que es un perfil que forma parte de la alianza WI-SUN. En la literatura, las evaluaciones de esta tecnología son escasas en comparación con otras. Por tanto, es importante conocerla y verificar su aplicabilidad y limitaciones en los servicios para redes inteligentes. Para su evaluación, se analizaron métricas como el tiempo de convergencia, los mensajes de control, la latencia de la red y la tasa de entrega de paquetes. The research addresses the impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) on the well-being of older adults. The problem lies in the lack of digital skills and distrust in technology, which limits its adoption and potential benefits in disease prevention and control. The objective is to determine how the use of ICT influences active aging and disease prevention. A qualitative methodology with an exploratory approach was used, based on focus groups of older adults in Xalapa, Veracruz. Mexico. The results show that, although ICT can improve the quality of life by facilitating communication and access to services, there are challenges such as lack of digital skills and distrust in technology. The conclusions highlight the need for inclusive policies and training to maximize the benefits of ICT in this population group

Ambivalent sexism proposes that male hegemony is sustained through devotion to mothers, wives and carers and through hostility towards women who do not fulfill these roles. These patterns would increase violent communication to women, an effect that would be increased by individual differences such as fear of negative social assessment (TESN). We sought to identify the impact of TESN and the six components of ambivalent sexism on destructive communication styles in the couple, analyzing data from 590 young participants. Regressions and models of structural equations confirm effects of hostile sexism and TESN on destructive communication, but only for men. The effects of each component of ambivalent sexism on destructive communication are discussed.

A gestão ambiental é essencial para minimizar os impactos negativos das atividades industriais, especialmente em pequenas empresas. Este estudo tem como objetivo identificar e avaliar os aspectos ambientais em empresas de lavadoras e lubrificadoras, alinhando-os com a norma ISO 14001:2015, para otimizar recursos, gerenciar resíduos e mitigar impactos. El sexismo ambivalente propone que la hegemonía masculina se sostiene mediante la devoción hacia las madres, esposas y cuidadoras y mediante la hostilidad hacia mujeres que no cumplen dichos roles. Estos patrones incrementarían la comunicación violenta hacia las mujeres, efecto que se incrementaría por diferencias individuales como el temor a la evaluación social negativa (TESN). Se buscó identificar el impacto del TESN y los seis componentes del sexismo ambivalente sobre estilos de comunicación destructivos en la pareja, analizándose datos de 590 participantes jóvenes. Regresiones y modelos de ecuaciones estructurales confirman efectos del sexismo hostil y el TESN sobre la comunicación destructiva, pero solo para los hombres. Se discuten los efectos de cada componente del sexismo ambivalente sobre la comunicación destructiva.

Este artículo recoge los principales aportes de la experiencia realizada con un grupo de niños en radio para desarrollar habilidades de comunicación. La investigación corresponde a un diseño cuasi experimental en área de la comunicación y educación. Se tuvo como objetivo demostrar que la producción de un programa radial influye en el desarrollo de habilidades comunicativas en niños de 9 a 13 años de las escuelas de la zona urbano marginal de la ciudad de Puno. Se trabajó con un grupo experimental de 14 niños, el grupo control estuvo conformado un número similar. La investigación se inició en el 2007 y finalizó en el 2008. Como resultado de esta investigación se obtuvo un proyecto de comunicación y educación en radio denominado como el proyecto “Nuestras Voces en Acción”.

While newspaper print circulation continues to fall, newspapers’ influence is shifting to the digital sphere, thus initiating new ways of engaging with their readers. With the aim of determining the relevance, in the digital environment, of the major Spanish newspapers with decades of traditional printed issues, this study measures the engagement, obtained through a comprehensive analysis, of the twenty most widely read newspapers on the Twitter social network in Spain. The main conclusion is that the highest engagement occurs in local newspapers, even though the greatest reach corresponds to the national press. The results confirm the need to implement new measures to control the business efficiency of the information industry.

Enquanto a circulação de jornais impressos diminui, a influência deles está migrando para a esfera digital, iniciando novas formas de envolvimento com os seus leitores. Com o objetivo de determinar a relevância no ambiente digital dos principais jornais, com décadas de tradição na imprensa, este estudo mede o envolvimento obtido através de uma análise detalhada da presença, na rede social Twitter, dos vinte jornais espanhóis mais lidos na Espanha. A principal conclusão é a constatação de que o maior envolvimento aparece nos jornais locais, embora o maior alcance corresponda à imprensa nacional. Os resultados confirmam a necessidade de incorporar novas medidas para controlar a eficiência empresarial da indústria da informação.
