Computer fraud is a crime that increased in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic in the world, and Peru was no exception. Therefore, we were interested in gathering Peruvians’ perspectives on the use of the press and social media in the dissemination and, eventually, their participation in a digital financial literacy strategy, as a preventive measure to avoid further losses from this crime. A survey of 429 residents in Metropolitan Lima and interviews with 25 victims of computer fraud revealed that Facebook and conventional television are the platforms most used to learn about the modus operandi of crime; that the majority do not share their experiences in the media because they distrust them or perceive that they do not contribute to clarifying their complaints. The study proposes a minimum informative strategy that the press could consider in its daily work, to guide people on how t...

Objective: tomography (MCT). Materials and methods: This was a descriptive, retrospective cross-sectional study. The sample was made up of 238 MCT studies performed in patients of both sexes between 20 to 87 years of age, with indication of tomography of the craniofacial complex. The length of the SHC was measured in lateral views of 3D volumetric reconstructions. The distribution of these cases was obtained according to age, sex, laterality, type, and the reason for the examination. Results: The mean length of the SHC was 30.66 ± 10.58 mm. Of the total sample, 127 (53.4%) individuals showed an elongated SHC; of these, 63.8% were women and 64.6% of the patients presented a bilateral compromise of the complex. Most of the subjects with an elongated SHC were between 30 and 59 years old. The type of ossification most frequently found was type I (continuous elongation). Regarding the reason...

The exposure of antibiotics in water is an environmental concern where comprehensive methodologies are needed to signal early the probability of risk. The objective of the study was to describe the environmental occurrence of antibiotics and its predictive ecotoxicological through the Gecotoxic® computer program. By non-probabilistic sampling for convenience, a scientific review article was selected assessing, the number of antibiotics and only ciprofloxacin; oxytetracycline, sulfamethoxazole, trimethoprim and erythromycin (out of 39) were represented on the four continents assessed: Africa, America, Asia-Pacific and Europe. Other studies considered the correlational limitation between bioassays, tax source characterization data, physical-chemical parameters and / or associated environmental matrix analyses. It was concluded that the ecotoxicology of antibiotics is predictable through t...

The media in Mexico have played a fundamental role in the social construction of the migratory reality and, in this regard, it was suggested that, on the issue of migrant caravans, some of them have performed thorough and rigorous coverage as a result of journalistic research, while others have not. The focus of this work is mixed and its scope is descriptive. Ten media outlets were analyzed, specifically 1,048 journalistic texts on the issue of migrant caravans, from October 2018 to February 2019. Quality indicators were used to analysis in the journalistic coverage and the results showed that certain media have a greater attachment to these indicators, while others tend to present a neutral-negative assessment.

The sales and operations planning process has to continually evolve before the new integration dimensions in the company supply and demand areas; for many years this concept has not been well understood in the companies. The inputs and outputs of this process should be clearly individualized and accepted as responsibilities of a determined business area. A new management architecture, corresponding to this scenario, is proposed and discussed in this document. A review of the computer support requirements for this process is undertaken. The required logic is also explained, highlighting the problems of corporate culture that arise in response to these changes and how they should be avoided. The common mistakes that companies make facing this need and the key success factors for an adequate deployment are also pointed out.

This article analyses how the concept of citizenship is addressed in 15 Peruvian cybermedia platforms and how Internet users use this term on the basis of the information published, in order to know the semantic coincidences and differences in media and public agendas. This research was carried out using a mixed method which combines the classical analysis of news’ content, computer analysis of users’ comments and interviews. Among findings validated by media journalists, the little attention paid by platforms to citizens is highlighted, as well as the divergence between the approaches of the senders and users. Some solutions to the abovementioned misunderstanding in this field of unquestionable public interest that affects both public debate and the development of citizens who are aware of their roles in society are proposed.

Discussion on convergence, represented in a variety of academic fields related to communication, has not included production and consumption of content, notwithstanding the relative abundance of references to convergence in Peruvian business and government papers. This is addressed by drafting a definition of convergence analyzing its specific manifestation, trying to generalize how it affects the viability of media industries and the definition of communication policy. Models of convergence are analyzed and an interpretation that helps to understand convergence as a social and cultural phenomenon is proposed.

Traditional media (press, radio and television) in South America have better expectations regarding the process of digital transition faced by communication companies and industries on a global level. This hypothesis is contrasted by comparing two elements. First, the evolution trends of the media sector in Latin America collected by sectorial databases of the World Association of Newspapers and New Publishers, the Eurodata´s general audience report, the Pew State of the News Media and the Global Entertainment & Media Outlook 2016-2020. Second, the results of an own survey to 166 managers from 19 Latin American countries. Media managers from the area confirm that traditional media will grow up to 5% and digital media and advertising could reach 10% and more in the coming years..
