The aim of this study was to determine how vitamin C affects protected concentrate Cavia porcellus "cuy" except forage on performance in growth stage - fattening. Materials and methods. 120 improved and weaned (14 days +/- 3 days) male cuy, genotype were randomly distributed in 4 treatments with 30 repetitions: T0: Concentrate + water + forage, T1: 45 mg of Vitamin C / 100 g of concentrate + water, T2: 55 mg of Vitamin C / 100 g of water and concentrated + T3: 66 mg of Vitamin C / 100 g concentrate + water. They were evaluated: final weight increase (IPF), daily weight increase (IPD), feed conversion (CA) and benefit / cost (B/C). Five cases of dogs with protective IgG antibody titres against canine Parvovirus are describe. The antibody titres were acquired through vaccination or by infection with field strains and that were infected by canine parvovirus in the natural state, developing clinical signs of the disease. Faecal samples from affected dogs were processed using PCR and nested PCR, and amplicons were sequenced for virus genotyping. The results showed that these dogs were infected with canine parvovirus type 2C, indicating that protective IgG antibodies obtained by previous vaccination or infection with field virus were not able to prevent infection or reinfection against canine parvovirus type 2C.

Hoy en día la radiación solar ha mostrado niveles extremos en diferentes ciudades peruanas, es importante medir el cuidado de las poblaciones expuestas a esta condición. OBJETIVO: Determinar las prácticas y el cuidado personal de la protección contra la radiación solar que tienen los trabajadores en las empresas peruanas. MATERIAL Y MÉTODO: estudio analítico transversal realizado en 14 ciudades de Perú en 2016, que preguntaba sobre la atención que los trabajadores tienen contra la exposición solar, las preguntas se tomaron de una encuesta validada anterior. Background: One of the UN Sustainable Development Goals is to reduce maternal mortality. Objective: To determine knowledge, attitudes and practices of health professionals regarding abortion. Design: Cross-sectional type of survey. Methods: During 2017, the Ecuadorian Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics Society - FESGO applied a survey to 132 health professionals to determine their knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding abortion. Results: We identified more nonpunishable abortion causes than those the law recognizes. The most frequent of these were rape (21%) and congenital malformations (13%). 83% of respondents agreed that law should allow ending a pregnancy if the woman’s life were at risk and 46% if her health was at risk. 61% of them agreed if the fetus had a congenital malformation. The burnout syndrome is an occupational health indicator that intervenes in the teaching-learning process and may harm the quality of education offered by institutions. The relationship between individual characteristics and the work environment may have different effects over the teaching performance. The current investigation seeks to analyze the fit of a model to predict teaching performance based on the teacher burnout, while including individual characteristics and the work environment perception in university teachers. The sample is composed of 94 teachers who provided information related to the Conscientiousness trait, their burnout and engagement levels, their teaching performance, and their perception of the work environment. Therefore, the purpose of this review was to compare the current indications and regulations for the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in dental care. For the bibliographic search, keywords such as “Containment of Biohazards”, “Personal Protective Equipment”, “dental office”, “COVID-19” were used during the advanced search in Pubmed and academic Google. We describe in this paper the damage caused by tobacco smoke not only to smokers, but also to persons exposed to second-hand tobacco smoke, and also the impact of this addiction in the economy. A review of the most important papers is presented, emphasizing the time when these studies were performed, which finally led many governments to issue laws aiming to limit the health damage caused by tobacco smoke. We also review laws for having tobacco-free environments, and the effects achieved with their implementation, including the economical consequences.
